im so happy this week. i was driving to work and the radio station i usually listen to has gone back to regular music. i am so sick of christmas music.

in other notes, the guys at work were watching a football game. at the end the winning QB did the usual winner speach ;' first of all id like to thank my lord and saviour jesus christ without whom none of this would be possible'. i laughed

I know the feeling. That's why I've been investigating where all the closet skeptics go.

I live just outside a small (pop. 10,000) East Texas town. There are 34 Christian churches in the county and to the best of my knowledge I may be the only atheist. Thanks for Atheist Nexus. At least I know there are like minded people.

I was an atheist in the inner city and easily found like minded people. I moved to the sunshine coast a few years ago and it has been heart rendering. Most people here are into mumbo jumbo spiritual nonsense and I spend my time shooting down conspiracy theories and bogus science. My only friends are virtual. Then yesterday I discovered a new bookshop (with the help of Athiest Nexus) that has just open in Noosaville. THere was no "the secret" or the "Auras of ancient civilisations that wrote in tongues about longivity and the coming of the great white dodo." (Sorry I got carried away). In any case the books that I wanted were actually on the shelf..I didnt have to order them!! THe last book I ordered for the "old" bookshop was "God is not Great" and when it didn't arrive they actually told me it was probably karma and that I was not meant to read it. Now that is a true story!!
Well I met some really amazing intelligent athiests who own the book shop and spent my whole day off talking with them.Meeting more like minded people at a dinner in a few weeks. I am so excited and I think I will stay as long as the book shop!!
