Thanks for the warm welcome George.
I'm really way off understanding the opening at all. A serious study, done by me would mean my rating should rocket forward.

I like Carlsen's play as well. Especially in the beginning when, although playing brilliantly, eagerness sometimes made him lose games. Somehow made him more human. I think that's the attraction I have for Morozevic's play as well. Daring assaults which might succeed but -as at the Corus Tournament- sometimes utterly fail.

Thankfully, chessplayers are still human.

Welcome, Andre. I think that any Sicilian player needs a strategic understanding of the Schevenningen. You need that to defend the Rauzer or to play the Najdorf, Paulsen or Taimanov. Perhaps you will write an article for this folder on your studies?

Topalob is the most ferocious of the World Championship Three, which includes Anand and Kramnik. But none of those three is going to take a great step forward. I think that Magnus Carlson could surpass them all at any time. I think that very shortly Carlson, Teimur Radjabov, Sergey Karjakin and Levon Aronian will be perched above all the rest.

BTW, Kamsky is far down in the pack in Nalchik, but he is just two moves from the lead. Two moves would have rescued his two losses amd given him an additional point and a half.

Before I might start, I love chess, but am not really good at it. I love the Scheveningen opening these days (Not because I'm dutch) and my favorite player is Topalov (even after his Kramnik soap adventure).
