This is a work I seem to come back to again and again, as much for its dynamics once underway as for its lovely, placid beginning and end.  It and its fellows in Books I and II may be among the high points of Impressionist composition.

I was particularly pleased to find Arturo Michelangeli's performance on YouTube, as I have his handiwork on the complete Image as well as his Children's Corner on Deutsche Grammaphone CD, which I recommend highly.

I second the recommendation. All these DG recordings are 'desert island' material. ABM groked Debussy like no other pianist did.
