We'll see what happens.  I see this is a non-active group.  And, having joined, I would be the only male.  Still....  we don't worry about pre-conceptions on Nexus.  I've met a number of guys who crochet, knit, and do other craft-type things.

I need some activities that require less physical strength and stamina than in even the recent past.  There was a time I did woodworking, turning bowels, plates, and trinkets on a lathe.  I also did a fair amount of refinishing.  No bona fide cabinet making but I have re-engineered some furniture.  I also re-upholstered some soft chairs, a long time ago.

Today I took it on myself to re-learn how to use a sewing machine.  Complicated!  But doable.

The first project was make a bow tie.  I wear them at work.  I have old, straight ties that I don't wear.  Some are favorites.   If I re-engineer them, I can wear them again.  This first attempt was OK.  This was scrap from the fabric store, holiday theme.  I figured if I ruined it, no loss.  Not perfect but better than I expected.  A couple more tries and I think I can do it.  Not quitting my day job yet  :-)

I've been knitting again lately. My sister's having her kid soon and it's actually cold now. I plan on starting on my sister's birthday/christmas gift soon--a cozy open sweater that's got a drapefront made of lace.

Hello, I'm a cross stitcher, although I must admit I haven't had a lot of time to do much cross stiching lately, hope to meet some like minded people here :)

Hi guys - I'm new here! I'm currently working on a sweater for me (knitting), a sweater for my daughter (knitting), a dress for my daughter (sewing) and two quilts! Fun, fun!

What are you all working on now? Any current projects?

Nice to have you, Cheryl, and your crafting sounds very interesting, but as you can see this group here at Atheist Nexus isn't very active. I invite you or any other crafter here to join the Atheists and Agnostic Crafters at Ravelry. We are pretty active and have a lot of fun.

Hello!  I do a lot of crafty type things, mostly during the winter though. I spin my own yarn (on a drop spindle), knit, crochet, make soap, bath oils and salts.  Hope to get back to sewing soon - getting a sewing machine sometime in the next month or so.  That's about it.  Nice to be here!

Thank you, Steph! Now I have to decide which project/kit to make next.  I have another stocking kit, a couple of ornament kits, and a Santa wall hanging...not to mention the sewing, crocheting, and reading I want to do! :)
