I started this group because I was looking for a similar one and same as GOD it does not exist here on A/N lol. If you are sick of feeling left out for being dark and moody or hardcore and brash-then guess what your my new friend. I want this group to be one big place to vent about how annoying society is. Basically anything that expresses yourself like, darkness, things that are creepy, fav rock bands, poetry, vampires, movies, TV shows-whatevs. Just share- if it's interesting. And Welcome!

Quiet, sunshine, and green tea
Not quite enough
today
to reassemble the jangling harsh fragments
of another Chaos President day
into some semblance of meaning.
Over the past decades, our culture has gone apocalyptic with zombie movies and Mad Max dystopias, perhaps the collective result of displaced climate anxiety, and yet when it comes to contemplating real-world warming dangers, we suffer from an incredible failure of imagination.
David Wallace-Wells
That's an important message: tRump isn't an aberration but an apotheosis... and there are more shocks to come in this corporate capture of our government and institutions.
Shock Doctrine author Naomi Klein on constant-source-of-shock Trump :
So maybe the emotion beneath what some have been calling “shock” is really, more accurately, horror. Specifically, the horror of recognition that we feel when we read effective dystopian fiction or watch good dystopian films. All stories of this genre take current trends and follow them to their obvious conclusion—and then use that conclusion to hold up a mirror and ask: Do you like what you see? Do you really want to continue down this road? These nightmare futures are horrifying precisely because they’re not shocking—not a break with our underlying stories, but their fulfillment. I’ve come to believe that we should see America’s first nuclear-armed reality-TV president in a similar fashion: as dystopian fiction come to life. [emphasis mine]
It's 11:33PM and I should have been asleep half a hour ago. But my head swirls with anger over politics. Read GOP Targets Trillion-Dollar Tax Break for Democratic States before coming to bed. Ryan wants us to pay federal taxes on the state taxes and local taxes we've already paid. So the billionaires can get even more tax breaks, those parasites who already send most of their income to tax shelters or use loopholes. Ever since the election I've felt attacked, and attacked and attacked, every damned day. I've struggled to write coherent letters to legislators this past week or more. My anger can not be contained in polite coherent requests to the mostly-assholes who are destroying everything. Ryan wants to withhold federal funding and the PA GOP also wants to withhold state funding for sanctuary cities. Hey, they must have said, let's kill the most productive part of our economy because they're not mean enough. Let's deconstruct destroy our government and our cities, and create a US failed state, "It'll be great!"
Trumpism is merely capitalism in its purest, most virulent form, signifying the collapse of all distinctions between life and death, between persons and things. The millionaires and billionaires serving in Trump's Cabinet share his vision of the total dominion of capital over workers, animals, and the natural world. That is why they want to obliterate the EPA and to deregulate Wall Street. Like capitalism itself, which has no allegiances or values of its own, they are fundamentally nihilists. [emphasis mine]
Death Eaters Not Only Walk Among Us—Now They Occupy the White House
Civilizations in the final stages of decay are dominated by elites out of touch with reality. Societies strain harder and harder to sustain the decadent opulence of the ruling class, even as it destroys the foundations of productivity and wealth.
Collective suicide is never factored into quarterly profit reports.

I agree, James, that our religious perspectives remain in layers. I've found introspection helpful when something like this bubbles to the surface. I'm keenly aware of human limits, particularly in interpreting reality through reason rather than out-of-control primitive brain responses. Thanks for your articulate and thoughtful comments.
