You eat what you see, and if you see only see a bowl of fruit on your kitchen counter, you'll lose weight. Put cookies, cereal and soda on it, and you'll gain.
The new Cornell study found that women who had breakfast cereal sitting on their counters weighed 20-lbs more than their neighbors who didn't, and those with soft drinks sitting out weighed 24 to 26-lbs more. The good news? Those who had a fruit bowl weighed about 13-lbs less.
"It's your basic See-Food Diet -- you eat what you see,"...
Oh! I do agree. I put out veggies, plain, with no heavy dips, and I roast raw nuts that Laura and Larry can grab as they go about their home businesses. They tend not to eat until they get famished and then fill up with crackers or other things that come in boxes. I also put out goat's milk cheeses as well as sardines. Occasionally, I make hard-cooked eggs and fill them with finely diced vegetables and olive oil mixed in the hard cooked yokes. They seem to enjoy those kinds of things.
Indeed. That's why commercials are so effective. See it and you want to eat it. Hide all your foods.
