I've been away from AN for a few years (about 4, I think).  I am wondering if this group is still active?  Above all is this a safe place for females to discuss things?

This is the type of lies that MRM cites for justifying a Men's Centre:

Men’s health issues are a serious matter that hasn’t been taken very seriously until recently.

Which anyone who knows anything about pharmacology is patently false! Until recently, females were excluded from pharmaceutical Research and development!

This apparently needs to be repeated... when a group gets together exclusively, it is based on being in a marginalised situation. When people with all the power that get together, that is no longer a rights' based movement but simply a club... and that is the way the world turns... it's still a old boys' club. Minorities/marginalised people "get together" in order to gain a foothold against the ruling majority. Otherwise it's just another power grab by MRM.
Fighting MRM might become one of the highlights of the feminist movement as I see it, they are the forefront of preservation of patriarchal power.

OMG!!! We still live in a highly patriarchal society... Most corporate and political positions, and still a vast majority of job sectors are dominated by males. And now the MRM is feeling the need to further consolidate their power by re-creating the men-only environment that only recently used to dominate our public spaces!!! Fuck me!!

@ TNT666 The monkey film demonstrates exactly what I am trying to convey, women participate, not because they are to blame, but because they have learned a gender role and fight like tigers if confronted.

Using monkeys, dogs, pigeons, prisoners of war and octopus, research reveals that just about anything with a brain can be trained to be "helpless", as these 5 monkeys that replaced 5 monkeys demonstrate. Trained helpless organisms can be trained to not be helpless, it takes time, skills, awareness, but each one can be trained to stop doing the helpless behaviors.

It is harder to train a group because of the organized resistance to training. If one learns to be free of the role, it becomes easier to train the group.

These studies began over 100 years ago in France and continue to this day. They make a fascinating read. See:

Seligman, (1972). Learned Helplessness.

Walker, LE (1979). The Battered Woman

Broverman IKBroverman DMClarkson FERosenkrantz PSVogel SR. (1970). Sex-role stereotypes and clinical judgments of mental health.

There are more recent studies by all these authors, but I used these references for my "Toward a Theory of Family Violence, its antecedents, treatment and prevention."

No one deserves harassment. As for toilet use, anyone with a penis needs to use the male's toilet. Beyond that it remains to be seen. But it is certainly more a topic for the transgender groups than this group. Myself, I have been in certain circumstances of completely integrated toilets for males and females. But this only works in very specific circumstances. In this case it was in a work camp with 20-25 people and we all knew each other well. Otherwise, I feel more comfortable with segregated toilets. Males tend to have much smellier bowl movements! And in bathrooms we get to openly discuss menstruation and menopause without male ears. It's much more comfortable that way. Our college settle the transgender toilet issue this way... he was encouraged to use the individual toilets instead of the communal ones. There are always designated individual toilets near communal ones. Saves all parties involved any ambiguity or discomfort.

I have a question.

I'm studying Spanish and I am the only atheist in the class.  :D  There is a transgender classmate that is about to be harassed by 13 xtians.  One started preaching Monday nite about this person needs Bubbles aka J.C. and instead of dictionaries in the classroom, we should have bibles.

One woman was complaining about this individual using the bathroom.  My question is:

Should I inform this individual about the backlash and provide her with a name of an attorney?

This is starting to get ugly in the classroom and both this individual and teacher are oblivious to this situation.  5 members of this cult knows that I am an atheist and have told them where to take their religion.

continuing with my non use of "women"...

In my experience, females who propagate patriarchal values, do so with a similar mindset to the Stockholm Syndrome. What originates with SS eventually progresses into the mores of society, unbeknownst to them. Because humans will learn and repeat anything, even stupid things, through sufficient brainwashing during the brainwashing years of youth. I don't blame the victims (females) for propagating patriarchy, because I recognise that like religion IS patriarchy, and that parting with religion is extremely difficult, so parting with patriarchy, must be equally as difficult, if it was efficiently brainwashed.

Nice video on how learnings from brainwashing are propagated in society:
