I just discovered this group (along with the rest of the Atheist Nexus). I've lived in Florida for six decades. My wife and I are in Palm Bay on the east coast. They launch rockets a bit north of here. Hello to all.

Just stumbled upon this site... glad to see people joining any kind of collective not afraid to say openly and freely that they don't believe in any sort of supernatural boogymen of any sort. Kudos. I'm constantly discussing these things with people willing to bring it up around me, i wish people would not fear a myth with such fervor, i think the world would look more kindly on love of each other as humankind isnstead of a spiritual soul that needs to be saved (or destroyed) for his/ her own benefit... cause it really comes down to that, mostly. they try to build thier reward in heaven rather than build a heaven here, if that makes any sense.

Hello Florida Atheists,

Would you mind putting up a list of local groups? The most complete one that I have found is the List of Southeastern groups.

I'd have to agree that Tampa seems a little more enlightened. I'm in the IT field, and a lot of my coworkers are closet Atheists. I like to help pry the door open for them...
