Doing Thanksgiving alone at home today, but looking forward to the preparation. Guess just thinking about the traditional dishes brings back fond memories of Thanksgivings at grandparents', parents', cousins', sisters', and my own homes. This one make 75 (not that I remember the first few).

The only thing I pre-made was persimmon pudding. Oh, I did finally find a Cornish game hen at Aldi yesterday, but it's too late. My ham is thawed and ready to go into the oven. I did buy the game hen, however, for a later date.

Carl, when I ate kale from the grocery store, it was strong, unpleasant to the taste buds and the tongue.

Spud, it is extremely easy to grow, comes in many different shapes and sizes. There are more varieties now with hybridization. The one I grew this year and find it delightful is  Lacinato Kale. It is a beautiful plant, one that could easily fit into an ornamental garden of flowers.

I've never had kale (that I know of.)  I'm certainly not against eating it.  Just haven't had the opportunity.

Never eaten kale, Spud?!! Wow. Not as tasty as chard, but I boiled some last night, added it to quinoa with soy sauce. Yum.

Don't think I've ever eaten Kale.  I should try growing some next spring.

Joan, I like your stories about Dominic.  Sound like a good friend.

OH! BUMMER! Here is a photo from Stock - my photos are better! I cut the greens from the ribs. The greens go in a pot with a dollop of butter, some homemade chicken stock, salt, and pepper. The ribs go into the kitchen compost bucket to be emptied into the garden compost by Dominic and me tomorrow. He loves that daily task. He makes a deep sound in his throat as he waits for me to put on my shoes, a jacket, get the keys, and compost bucket. It is almost like a dog purr.

Joan, "Your file is not found" is the result I get for your photos.  :(

Well, it worked for me. I copied the address and posted it on my search engine.

So many times, when I have an update, I have to learn how to do old, familiar tasks a new way. Sorry, I am experimenting with you.

Not click-able, Joan.
