Too much food is why I don't buy big turkeys anymore. A couple of weeks ago I bought a small one because it was so cheap. A few days ago I put it in the refrigerator to thaw, so I'll probably cook it in a week.
Rick still wants the December thing, but we don't do thanksgiving, or easter. Too much work, too much needless food, & just a big nuisance to me now. Celebrating every 5 minutes it seems, to me gets so boring.
I don't do thanksgiving or xmas either. I cook a turkey perhaps once a year, whenever I'm ambitious enough, whether it's January, May, or September.
We don't do thanksgiving.....too much work. Turkey dinner in December is more than enough for solstice.
Daniel, you don't have to save me a piece! I'll take a pass. Gooseberry pie might have the same taste qualities--sweet and sour.
This time it's Mince pie. This pie filling is more complicated, with 2 apples, a lemon, an orange, black grapes and golden grapes. The orange and lemon peels are included. plus a little apple juice, spices, and brown sugar but not a lot. The flavor is interesting, with sweet, sour, spicy, fruity, and bitter. I got the recipe from Vegetarian Times in 1991.
Pumpkin pie! This oven cooks a little hotter than my old one did, but the pie still tasted very good.
Thanks Randy. I hope yours is also wonderful.
And everyone else! Enjoy the day!
I realize I missed the Canadian Thanksgiving, in October. Hope it was good, Patricia!
That's okay--coffee is food!
Thanksgiving at your house sounds delicious. Enjoy the food and fellowship.
