Randy, I tried CBD oil and I didn't like the way I felt; when walking down the hall, I swaggered side to side as though I were inebriated. I gave the bottle to my granddaughter who felt relief from migraine headaches when taking it. I use a CBD ointment on my knees and hands and it seems to relieve the sharp arthritic pain. I don't know how to test for the placebo effect when "n" = one. I may be deluding myself.

.I'm proud to say I did it! (see below) What I can't say is that I feel any different, i.e., better or improved. My weight stayed the same, which is good news since I thought sweets were adding extra unnecessary calories. Anyway, I'm quitting my "experiment" as of today.

The same goes for taking CBD oil. I've used it for 6 weeks and see absolutely no results. I was hoping it would relieve arthritis in my thumb joints. I hated taking it because it tastes so foul.

I'm not big on sweets at any time.

After almost making myself sick eating my daughter's incredible cherry cobbler last night (instead of a birthday cake), I am embarking on a sugar free diet for the next 2 weeks, if not longer.

I've wrapped up all my cookies and chocolates and stuck them deep in the freezer to avoid temptation.

I'm not overweight or have diabetes, but still, I know that sugar is a toxin in so many ways. It's just not good for me (us).

So while it's bad enough to be quarantined (coronavirus), I'll just go a step further and ban sweet foodstuffs in my home. I chose the dates starting with my dad's birthday and ending with my mom's (2 weeks apart) (both deceased).--plus beginning the day after my own. I'll let you know how it goes. I could use an A/N companion!

I hope this method works for me! I'm out of eggs now and will try this process as soon as Michelle brings me those farm fresh eggs.

My Christmas ham leftovers is/are in the freezer. But your recipe, Loren, sounds good.

If I follow up on my resolution, the ham will stay in the freezer for awhile.

Loren, thanks for the left-over ham recipe. I have a big chunk left from New Year's Eve and your salad looks like a great way to use it up.

Grinning Cat, I also have some leftover salmon and your recipe is just what I need.

Thanks to both of you.

Randy, I am with you on eating healthier during 2020. We eat very healthily now, but I want to reduce our red meat and certain carbs.

"Mediterranean Diet Repeats as Best Overall of 2020

"Experts gathered by U.S. News this year ranked 35 diet plans, compared to 41 last year. Besides the best overall diet category, they ranked:

  • Best diets for healthy eating
  • Easiest diets to follow
  • Best diets if you have diabetes
  • Best diets if you have heart disease
  • Best plant-based diets"

I seldom follow any recipe unless its essential to do so.

Both good recipes. My salads are mostly of the 'What is this? Get into the bowl!' type a good way to clear the fridge.
