I think I need to take back what I said about Vidal's disdain for labels - this bio is more nuanced "Vidal has consistently argued that the term "homosexual" has no validity, because human sexuality is too complex and diverse to be reduced to binary terms." That's a viewpoint that I can buy into. I'll have to apologize to Mr.Vidal. Not that he would care. He is an intellectual giant.
Strange, I thought Perkins was known to be gay. Not that I follow hollywood stuff.
He could have been a model. I think Marlin Brando was supposed to have similar thoughts about his own sexuality.
I don't understand why people generalize about everyone else's sexuality based on their own. That includes Vidal. So he's bi. That's fine, no problem in any way. There are also straight people, and gay people, and people in between. Some people have fluid sexuality, some don't, and some are asexual. It seems narcissistic to assume that everyone is "just like me".
try this. or this I suspect gore vidal was bisexual to begin with but on that he can only speak for himself. ive said all i have to say on that discussion.
Thanks for the video, Sentient! It's interesting and encouraging to draw parallels with modern issues for me. Also, who was that man at 6:30? What he said is applicable even today. It's amazing he could say something so progressive that it still needs to be said 40+ years later. I tried searching for his quote, but I only got 1 hit on reddit with no name.
That was an amazing video. I tend to forget how things were back then. I was a junior in high school when this was broadcast and I was madly in love with my best friend, Bill. Even though I was in love with another boy and engaged in homosexuality, it took me years after this to admit to being a homosexual. I rationalized it all by telling myself that I had some homosexual feelings, but that I was not a homosexual. I was a good person and homosexuals were terrible people, so I could not possibly be a homosexual. It took three years of therapy to recover from the effects of this type of propaganda and prejudice. It amazes me how much has changed since then. Thanks for sharing that video.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

same sex marriage vs. cousin marriage infographic. Not the coolest infographic I've ever seen, but interesting. There are a few states where you could marry your same sex cousin, if you were so inclined.
Did the writer need to say "Ellen DeGeneres, a Lesbian"? He didn't identify the other people that way... "Englebert Humperdink, a heterosexual...." Well, that's me nitpicking. I'm glad the kid is in jail for the long term. At least he has a life, and ultimately maybe a chance for personal 'redemption', unlike his murder victim.
@Dallas Gaytheist"Yummy, yummy, yummy, I got love in my tummy."Out of curiosity, who is dominant in your fantasies with him?
thanks for the comment & information. just fyi - copyright and Ning website regulations require that full articles not be copied - a brief quote is OK, along with a link.
