Armagayddon: the fate of societies that vote for marriage equality.
"The weddings were unbelievable. I felt completely underdressed! And the cakes....!" "We put our son Michael into the box the day the referendum passed.... Come on Michael, look at the lovely woman....."
More wonderful quotes from the backlash against that horrible, anti-gay pastor here: Unfair discrimination
(Thanks to Freethinker for bringing this up in the more general "Ethics and Morals" forum!)
Amen ("What he said!" no gods needed) to Carl!
Obviously the pastor who cancelled the gay man's funeral the night before got no help from his supposedly loving and perfect god in being moral and decent!
Sentient, you beat me to sharing the comments I was about to quote! :-) [to the pastor] "if a loving God existed, He would not allow people like you to use His name to harm others."
And well said about the fake gay man faking a fake religion to distribute fake "gospel condoms" in Vancouver's pride parade! (More at JMG) What would FSM say? The anti-LGBTQ evangelist is actually proud of his elaborate ruse, even lying through his teeth on his application to enter the parade.
And I too hope the Ugandan pride parade took place peacefully!
Thanks for the the update on the Florida church. I love a good, well-deserved backlash.
Carl, thanks for your words. I agree with you completely.
More on that Florida church. They riled up many people, and the internet backlash was formidable. Which I find very rewarding.
A couple of the comments,
Well, you are a shining example of why I no longer believe in God...if a loving God existed, He would not allow people like you to use His name to harm others."
"In Timothy 2:8 we read: 'I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting. In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array.' Which is why you also don't allow funeral arrangements for women with braided hear or who wear jewelry. Am I right?
Three very interesting stories. I hope the Ugandan parade succeeds without any violent confrontations or injuries. I just wish people were allowed to live their lives as they naturally were born. Those are some very brave and courageous people in Uganda.
The guy in Vancouver? What a nut-case. Girl, pleeze!
How terrible to drop a bombshell on a grieving family the night before a scheduled funeral service. Does this "pastor" has ANY sense of decency? Apparently not. And some people still wonder why we seek equal protection.
Gay Pride parade in Uganda. Which is about as courageous as having a Jewish Pride parade in Iran. Amazing and wonderful.
FLorida church cancels funeral when the pastor discovers the deceased was a gay man with a grieving husband.
