Welcome to Gay / LGBTQI Atheists & friends!

I will be taking a reduced role at Atheist Nexus as of Oct 1, 2017. I will not be moderating this group after that time, and I will be re-zeroing most of my groups and comments.

That will leave this group without a moderator. Since this group was started by a member who hasn't visited Nexus for many years, it is not possible to select or designate a moderator. Instead, I will send notification to Br. Richard that the group will be without a moderator. It will then be up to him to decide how to proceed.

Since this is a popular group, I recommend that a member start up a new group for quotations, so that the members can continue adding and reading their favorite quotes.

Thanks and happy reading!

Indiana issues pro LGBT-youth  license plate.  Yes, Indiana - the state between Ohio and Illinois, "North Kentucky".

I'm in shock. Is it possible there was a change in the past 30 years? Nice thought!

So, when will we see the same plate concept in Texas?

p.s.  due to some of the language in the video below, you probably don't want to play it in the workplace.  some workplaces have worse language, but I don't want to get anyone into trouble.

Cute ad.

140 years of Black Male Couples.  Really moving article.  To assume that all, or any of these are actual "couples", or gay, may well be stretching it, but at least in the photos these men are clearly enjoying one another's company.  It's a beautiful collection of photos.

Richard!  Such colorful commentary!  Well, Bachmann WAS overwhelmed by Santorum!

Meanwhile, this is why gay marriage must be stopped at all costs!

At least the high priestess of bat-shit insanity Bachmann imploded democratically and disappeared back up the sphincter of republican crazy from which she had descended like a swollen haemorrhoid.

Santorum "welcomed" to New Hampshire.  Who knows what will happen - we can only hope that his antigay obsession and theocratic attitudes don't inspire too many of his own ilk.

Ian, all of the states have both sides of the equality coin. This will probably play on for at least a generation.  The ad plays to stupidity - "we should keep things unequal because they have always been unequal".  Oh, that makes sense!  Actually, marriage has not "always" meant one man and one woman, and the bible has many variations on marriage, including those of the bible-god's favorites like David, and Abraham.  The christians are the biggest liars on this issue, because they just want to promote bigotry.

As a Minnesotan, I am completely embarrassed.  Sure, marriage has always been used to refer to the union of man and woman.  So what?  Meanings of words change all the time.  Even if marriage had previously meant "hot dog," it wouldn't in any way constitute an argument against the gay marriage movement.
