Welcome to Gay / LGBTQI Atheists & friends!

I will be taking a reduced role at Atheist Nexus as of Oct 1, 2017. I will not be moderating this group after that time, and I will be re-zeroing most of my groups and comments.

That will leave this group without a moderator. Since this group was started by a member who hasn't visited Nexus for many years, it is not possible to select or designate a moderator. Instead, I will send notification to Br. Richard that the group will be without a moderator. It will then be up to him to decide how to proceed.

Since this is a popular group, I recommend that a member start up a new group for quotations, so that the members can continue adding and reading their favorite quotes.

Thanks and happy reading!

My guess would be oral sex (you're right, not many gay guys would just "bend over" in public), but it could have been as little as kissing.

Re: gay cruise ship arrests:

"George said the men were seen having sex on the Celebrity Summit cruise ship by someone on the dock"

My question there would be what did do the people who saw it deem as a sexual act - bearing in mind in the first place that they are gay. Perhaps the drugs may have influence such an extroverted display, but really, how many gay guys just 'bend over' anywhere and everywhere?. Most are discreet. Now perhaps a public display of kissing and fondling.... could this be misconstrued as 'gays having sex'? Obviously not enough information here to know. I was also surprised at my ignorance of how homophobic other countries are, sure, the the Middle East's feelings are well known, but Jamaica??? I always thought stoners were pretty laid back and cool, but then Jamaica does have a hell of a history, I just didn't realize they hadn't gotten over it.

Tony, we just need to find u a partner now.

Dominic - no argument here!

SB. Strange people indeed. Was told, kindly, by my supervisor, that it appeared demonic. Dali did look possesed though. This was the same person that refused to work with a surgeon because he was Hindu, and actually told him he was going to hell.

Straight people have always enjoyed "Lovers' Lanes" and "Lovers' Point" type places.  It was considered a right of passage.

But, if the media shows a gay men meeting in the park, the public is supposed to be outraged by the fact that these men had the nerve to express their sexuality.

Yes, the article made it quite clear that the issue wasn't two people expressing their sexuality, it was two gay people.

I guess a "move along" is good enough for heterosexuals, but gay people require the police and the church to teach us that age old lesson, that any hint of our sexuality is bad and will not be tolerated.

It's only a matter of time before this discrimination passes, but we must always be vigilant, to ensure that it does disappear.

Hey SB. I'm willing to take one for the team. I'll be your straight man for this experiment. Always willing to throw myself on the grenade.

Tony, how could anyone be offended by that?  Strange people.

David - what are you doing in my mind?  It was supposed to be the other way around.  Be very careful, it's a mess in there.

Hey SB. Had 'Persistence of Vision' on my computer at work as wallpaper, and believe it or not, was asked to remove it. I think I know who it was, and they are fundamentalists. Have complained about a number of other people also under hostile work enviroment. I removed it, Their computer.

SB - Sumatra or Sumatran?

Tony - Well said. Gay rights shouldn't even be an issue.
