I think acceptance starts with tolerance. It is impossible without it. I think the move from bigotry to acceptance is in impossible quantum leap for most otherwise.

Great article. Read the comments after. Most seemed to be of the 'tolerant' bent. As in 'I don't care, doesn't affect me, whatever two people want, ' etc. Started me thinking, is tolerance acceptance in these peoples minds? I mean, does tolerance lead to acceptance, or is this just a morally ambigious form of self deceit? Will it lead to a 'deal with the devil', a compromise? As we know personal compromise works, in a limited sense. We can justify it to ourselves. Still doen't make us fully happy. But political compromise doesn't seem to work out as well, just kicks the can down the road for others to wrangle with later. Most of those comments I read I classify as passive tolerance, as in if it happens, okay. If it doesn't, okay. But not acceptance. The fight for acceptance must continue on all fronts. Let me sign off now. Just some of my thoughts when I read the article and comments. As always, be well. Peace.

Massive lesbian / gay wedding ceremony in Cleveland.  More than 200 couples.

I want to spend today with positive thoughts....  This video was from the Advocate.  Interesting perspective artwork.  A point of view that I'm not used to when thinking about Israel.

Sandi - Jamaica is gay hell   here.  here.  wikipedia.  Time magazine suggested that Jamaica was the  most homophobic place on earth.  The horrible island nation also has the world's highest murder rate.  A lot of the rest of the Caribbean is also described as homophobic.  I don't know.  Must be something in the tropical air.

My guess would be oral sex (you're right, not many gay guys would just "bend over" in public), but it could have been as little as kissing.

Re: gay cruise ship arrests:

"George said the men were seen having sex on the Celebrity Summit cruise ship by someone on the dock"

My question there would be what did do the people who saw it deem as a sexual act - bearing in mind in the first place that they are gay. Perhaps the drugs may have influence such an extroverted display, but really, how many gay guys just 'bend over' anywhere and everywhere?. Most are discreet. Now perhaps a public display of kissing and fondling.... could this be misconstrued as 'gays having sex'? Obviously not enough information here to know. I was also surprised at my ignorance of how homophobic other countries are, sure, the the Middle East's feelings are well known, but Jamaica??? I always thought stoners were pretty laid back and cool, but then Jamaica does have a hell of a history, I just didn't realize they hadn't gotten over it.
