A musical exploration of the implications of marriage equality by the talented duo Garfunkle and Oats

I hope Ireland shows the world how much it had grown and changed.

It reminded me a little of a couple who I knew decades ago. He was Italian American Catholic from
Chicago. She was Irish Anerican Catholic from Chicago. I remember them telling me their parents did not approve of their mixed marriage, so they went to Las Vegas to get married.

The USA is going through "The Crazy Years,"  With Pat Robertson playing the role of Nehemiah Scudder and the Neo Puritans disguising themselves as the Tea Party.

"If this Goes On...."

One more video on the Marriage Equality constitutional referendum in Ireland on May 22, 2015. Mrs. Brown's Boys, and it's great. And, I think it is funny. And, as it turns out, Ireland (one of the MOST Catholic countries in the world), is wayyyy ahead of the US on marriage equality. Over 70% of the voters in the Republic are in favor of it. Maybe my family's homeland has finally thrown off the tyranny of both London and Rome.

I watched the Bruce Jenner interview and was right along with her going through a lot of the same things that I went through even though I was a lot older than she is now.  Then she blew it. She may be rich but that does not fix stupid.  She stated she is a Republican.  Of LGBT she as I claim two letters L & T and for her to support Republican lunacy is rather like a Jew supporting the Nazi party.  I wonder if they will try and dump her now that she has come out?

@ Daniel - Oh, btw, anyone who doesn't make a hell of a lot of money and is a Republican, regardless of who or what they like to have sex with, is a complete dickhead too. With a high probability of being a fuckhead a well.

Well, I take dickhead as meaning not very smart. If you're pulling down $1M + a year you may not be stupid to be a Republican, but you're still a fuckhead, which I take as meaning an asshole.

Bertold, so if they are gay Republicans, they can get out of being a dickhead by being obscenely rich?  :-)

This was on a gay humor site.  I don't know why it's gay:

If Mary Tyler Moore married and divorced Steve Tyler, then married and divorced Michael Moore, then got into a 3-way Lesbian marriage with Demi Moore and Mandy Moore, would she be Mary Tyler Moore Tyler Moore Moore Moore?

Comment by Bertold Brautigan on April 29, 2015 at 8:22pm

@ Daniel - You're right, and I'd extend that to say that any gay guys that even are republicans are total dickheads, unless they have mitigating circumstances like being obscenely rich, in which case being Republican is in their self-interest.
