@Daniel: get out your night vision goggles; their name is legion. For starters, you have Rubio who says that if gay rights aren't stopped, Catholic teachings will be hate speech. (Duh, like they aren't already.)

Well, if Lindsey Graham is really Huckleberry, and he married Mike Huckabee, he would be Huckleberry Huckabee.

I don't know much about Graham.  I'm already up to my ear hairs in dumbf*ck Republican and Christians.  It feels like falling into a septic tank and drowning.   If there's one more, I might never see daylight again.

Lindsay Graham would hardly need the sex change surgery either. (Charlie Pierce has dubbed him Senator Huckleberry J. Butchmeup.) As an alternative to the many Lindsays scenario,  he could marry Mike Huckabee and they could live happily ever after bombing the shit out of perverts and non-Caucasians.

Lindsey Graham would not even need a name change.   She could  hang out with Lindsay Lohan, as Lindsey and Lindsay.

Transitioning would certainly make him stand out in the field of Republican candidates.

Then he could marry Hal Lindsey, and he'll be Lindsey Lindsey. Then, if they got divorced, and married George Lindsey, she would be Lindsey Lindsey Lindsey.

But George Lindsey is dead, so probably won't work out.

Well.....despite Jenner's apparent conservatism and religiosity, I guess the best outcome for all this, besides him being happy, is that he is a high profile person who may be able to influence others to live their true lives as well, and raising awareness of this important issue.  Right now, Jenner is just the current step forward in the path of progress.  Who knows who will be next pioneer?  Perhaps it will be Lindsey Graham.

It's interesting to read opinions about Caitlyn Jenner's public transformation.   Some comments on Hemant Mehta's site (Felaine linked there) transcended the "I am politically correct liberal.  Jenner is a true hero" vs. "I am politically correct conservative.  Jenner is a pervert".  One post read as follows:

"You're not an automatic "hero" just because you join the force, wear a uniform, or identify with a minority group that suffers from oppression.

however, these days? you can be a hero if you're rich, and you write a big, fat check to a group doing actually heroic work. like the Ali Forney center in NYC, where hundreds of trans runaways are sheltered after being kicked out by their (mostly xtian) families.

Ms. Jenner, i'm waiting to call you a hero."

Apparently, Jenner is worth $100,000,000 now.  NYDaily  News estimates her future worth potential as $500,000,000.   Not that there's anything wrong with being super, super, super rich, or with being associated with an exhibitionistic TV show and what amounts to an empire of exhibitionision, cheapening American culture more than it already was, and talented only at making people look at them even more and make them even richer.

Jenner identifies as a conservative Republican.  She's also apparently rather Christian.   "He was regularly spotted with his wife at their former non-denominational Christian church, Calvary Community Church in Westlake Village, California.1 Now, he joins her at the church she (and presumably he as well) help to fund, the Life Change Community Church, also a non-denominational Christian congregation."  Not that there's anything wrong with being Republican or Christian, but none of those identifiers place her as any kind of supporter for the LGBTI community, other than by simply existing and "look at me".

So to me, this seems like a mind-bogglingly rich person, whose family makes a living saying "look at me", who did become who she really was, which of course is a very big deal and that's wonderful no matter how rich and conservative you are.  But, she doesn't seem to be supporting or fighting for anyone, and reallhy - how is she taking a risk, where is the character? - and stands to become even richer by further saying "look at me".  It's impressive, what the surgeons and make-up artists have done, converting someone who was phenotypically and older man, with a lot of really sun damaged skin, into a rather ravishing cover-woman, an elegant movie-type diva, with an amazing feminine face, beautiful skin, and breasts more full and lush than Kim Kardashian's.

- I'm just a grouchy old curmudgeon.

I wonder how many people knew Susan B. Anthony said that when they put her image on a coin...with IGWT on the other side.  (I did.) Tee-hee!

@Pat....I like to eff-off the morons and Jeehoover's Witlesses when they come to the door, but my sister lives with me, is a JW, and will talk about their imaginary friend with anyone.  That's how she became a JW in the first place....she also has Asperger's syndrome, and has never had any real friends she can call up or email just to chat.  Ever. Even her Avon lady is a JW....

Comment by Bertold Brautigan on June 4, 2015 at 7:09pm

Amen to that, Pat!

I distrust those people who know so well what God wants them to do because I notice it always coincides with their own desires.

Felaine, you're correct in stating that the self-ordained, high school drop out, don't have a GED, all knowing interpreters of the Big Book of Jewish and Christian Fairy Tales will tell you what their imaginary friend wants.

However, I always like to 'eff' with the true believers. When they start on their BS about what the magic man in the sky wants, I ask them if they know the mind of their deity. Of course, they say no one can know. Which leads me to my next question. Then how in the f*&k do you have the gall to tell me what it wants!?

Hemant Mehta on xian criticism against Caitlyn Jenner:

It always amazes me that self-appointed buybull interpreters just know what their imaginary friend thinks about everything.
