My cat used to be a toilet drinker, too, but now he is elderly and nearly blind.  We had a little fountain we turned over to him and he is quite content to drink from it.  I think they like the fresh taste of the water.  Water sitting in a bowl gets stale after awhile, but water aerated by the fountain pump stays fresher.  No more worries he will fall in the toilet and drown.

The time to clean baby butts is now!  Glad yall liked the video.  Biped, I am a veterinarian and my cats drink toilet water all the time.  I don't know what the draw is, but they love it.  Maybe we don't know what we are missing...

Loved the parody of the NOM ad.  Thanks, Dr. Kellie.

Dr. Kellie, that's a very funny ad. "The time to fight for prejudice is now!" Should be the republican motto now. Along with "The time to stop affordable health care is now!" and "The time to bankrupt America is now!".

I live in a one-gender household (except for the cat and 4 hens) and we still have toilet issues. The dogs prefer toilet water to dog-bowl water, paws down. I don't know why that is, because I keep their bowl fresh with new water twice daily But if the seat is up, they run to the toilet. It's probably that special "toilet flavor" that they find so tempting. My partner tells me there's an old Chinese saying "You can't teach a dog not to eat shit". It's OK for me to repeat this because he's Chinese.

That said, they never get intestinal or stomach diseases. They are really quite healthy.

This is an issue for me, because I am the one who cleans the toilet. Strange as it seems, as the doggies drink the water, the water washes their dirty noses, and it leaves a ring in the toilet water for me to clean.

My partner also tells me that in the village where he grew up in rural China, they didn't have baby wipes. Instead, they had their doggies do that role, which resulted in clean baby butts and happy dogs. Im not kidding.

Plus, they didn't have toilet seats in his village, so it was a moot point.

Growing up with a mom and two sisters, my dad and I were out voted.  But, the results were not fair.  The females had to have the lid up, and the seat down, so that it was always ready for them.  The males had to arrange the seat according to usage.  So now, as an adult, I am getting even.  I keep both seat and lid down, for two reasons.  First, the lid is decorative, and second, I don't want any of my pets to drink the water.  So now, when my mom and sisters visit, they have the burden of lifting the lid, and I get to scold them for leaving it up.  Another bathroom issue is that women cannot understand why males sometimes urinate outside.  I have an acre and one half and the nitrogen is good for the plants.  But the main reason why men pee outside, is because we can.  So the battle of the sexes rages on.  LOL

Well I keep hearing things like that ice cubes have more germs than toilets, drinking fountains have more germs than a toilet seat...so why the hell don't we all just drink out of toilets then if they're so hygenic?!

How can I resist getting involved in this discussion?  For fuck's sake, when you are at my house, drinking my liquor, and eating my food, and sharing my cheerful company, put the toilet seat down after you pee.  All of my fags do this without instruction.

Peeing in the backyard is a bonus.  I'll join you:)

Now that would cause a row in my mum's house, Mike.
