Wendy Wright...Wendy Wright.... where do I know that name from?

.. oh yeah...

That dumb as rocks* creationist idiot who's never visited a museum.

I'm surprised she can tie her own shoes the yawning great chasm of vacant space between her ears.

Oh was she speaking? I must have lost interest. Something about being surrounded by seamen on board a submarine, being cooped up in a long metal dildo for months on end will send those poor boys raping each other through unhinged sexual lust and how the real danger is all those crusty HIV infested faggots undermining National Security with pesky blood transfusions.

If only, as Dawkins politely rebukes her, she would have to contend with facts, but no chance of that. So just slap her with a wet haddock until she stops speaking and retire knowing the moral victory is ours.

* I take that back as an insult to rocks. She sets the bar for inane stupidity lower than I can find an appropriate metaphor to describe.

Great video Richard...I noticed a few people didn't applaud or stand up. So, basically being against someone saying "don't kill yourself for being gay".

Wendy thinks suddenly there will be a ton of HIV positive soldiers in the military? Army applicants are tested for HIV and lots of other diseases, and people don't get HIV just from coming out of the closet (since there are already lots of gays in the military).

Happy Friday! Who wants to puke?

Richard, thank you for the video. I'm not sure how much more of this I can handle, I may need to avoid news about this issue. I thought I put it all behind me eons ago. It's too much.

It's amazing that the issue still is what it is. Leadership at that city council level is far superior to what is there at the national level, where cowards seem to think a little pro-gay (or even just avoiding antigay) speech will cost a couple of votes.

Really, that video is too moving for me, but I watched it all the way through.

On the national leadership issue, looks like in the US the only way that President Obama can support the end of "Dont ask/dont tell" might be to appeal the judicial order against it. WTF?

Separate topic, my high school class maintained a site for a number of years, I used to check it for I don't know what. One time I looked at the "in memoriam" section - every one of the guys who I later put 2 and 2 together can came up in retrospect was gay, was on that page. No cause of death given, and given the times, AIDS is more likely than suicide, but I sometimes wish I could go back and tell them "guys, I'm one too, I was just too naive to know it".

This will move you all to tears, I guarantee it.

Obama to gays: "You're a liability in the upcoming election. If people think I like you they might not vote for me. Who needs you?" OK, he didn't say that - just his administration appeals the ruling on gay marriage, supporting DOMA which he was previously against. That previous standing was one of the factors that led at least some gays to support Senator Obama in the first "The Obama administration filed a notice of appeal with the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts in support of the 1996 Defence of Marriage Act that barred gay marriages, even though President Barack Obama had previously opposed the law."

Ummmm..... exactly what other reason for this action, if not trying to avoid looking too "progay"?

With friends like our current democrat president, who needs homophobes? His so-called leadership regarding LGBT issues has been sort of "I've got a full plate, don't expect everything right away" combined with "Well, at least I'm not as bad as that prior president".

There's only so much of the "You better vote for me - the other side is much, much worse" argument that will work. Maybe it's time for a "draft Hillary" movement. Unless the President can come up with some good arguments for why his "community organizing " skills don't apply to the LGBT community (or to the wars, but that's a different issue).

I'm sure that almost every gay alive was brainwashed to be straight, but that didn't stop all of us from being being gay. I like to imagine all of us gays getting married to people of the opposite sex, like he suggests is the best course of action. What a fucked up mess that would be.

NY candidate for governor not exactly courting the gay vote. "There is nothing to be proud of in being a dysfunctional homosexual" in his prepared but nonpresented statement. He did state, he didn't want children "to be brainwashed into thinking that homosexuality is an equally valid or successful option," compared to heterosexuality. "It isn't," Paladino said at a stop in Brooklyn, New York.

There's nothing to be proud of in being a shameless bigot, either.
