How Proponents of Anti-LGBT Discrimination Are Organized, Funded &a...

"Following the Supreme Court’s historic victory legalizing marriage for all Americans, opponents of LGBT equality are shifting nearly all their efforts to discriminate from the national stage to the states. It’s no coincidence that state legislatures were flooded with over 200 anti-LGBT bills this year. Move your cursor over the groups and individuals on the image below to learn more about how the pieces of the puzzle fit together when it comes to laws that harm LGBT people."

With the one-year anniversary of the Obergefell decision coming up, Americans United has been keeping a running count of the number of ministers forced to marry same-sex couples.

Anderson Cooper grills Pam Bondi.

I remember Bondi's fight against equality, very well. She spent a fortune in state funds to continue the fight, even after multiple judges had found the Florida measure unconstitutional.

"My lawyer argued a case..."  - she won't take ownership of what she directed her staff to do.

Some "faith leaders" are starting to "take ownership" of their homophoibnia.  via thinkprogress.

I'm not meaning to use scare quotes, but the words are not necessarily words that I would use.

"Catholic Bishop of St. Petersburg, Florida Robert Lynch:

Sadly it is religion, including our own, which targets, mostly verbally, and also often breeds contempt for gays, lesbians and transgender people.

“…Sadly it is religion, including our own, which targets, mostly verbally, and also often breeds contempt for gays, lesbians and transgender people,” he wrote. “Attacks today on LGBT men and women often plant the seed of contempt, then hatred, which can ultimately lead to violence. Those women and men who were mowed down early yesterday morning were all made in the image and likeness of God. We teach that. We should believe that. We must stand for that … Singling out people for victimization because of their religion, their sexual orientation, their nationality must be offensive to God’s ears. It has to stop also.”
