Missouri hospital throws out the partner of gay patient, has him arrested and refuses to allow him into the hospital.

raw story.com

Since news reports are not in depth, more may come out on this story.  At the outset, it looks pretty heinous.

It hits home for me as a recent hospital patient and ongoing medical patient due to cancer.  At the hospital where I had my surgery, staff accepted my partner completely, allowed him to stay in my room with me as I recovered.  Surgeon and nurses included him in the entire process.  It made a world of difference.  Because we are married, he was able to get time off work to provide care during my recovery.

It really matters.

When I had the initial pain episode that led to this diagnosis, the ambulance insisted on taking me to the nearest hospital, which happened to be a Catholic hospital.  They allowed my partner to be with me in the ER, but I don't know how long that would have lasted.  The ER doctor was pretty obnoxious, but I think that was just his personality.  Since my health plan "repatriates" patients to their own hospitals, I was glad they transported me to the hospital where I stayed.

I would never support violence of any kind but in this world I wonder how come the biggest instigator in the universe is that hate group known as The Catholic Church has not inspired a Cathophobic response. It's proof that gay people who are hiding deep in the closet are the most offensive homophobes.  They have initiated hatred, violence and murder for many centuries and they are still at it. Most of the crap going on in France over gay marriage is at the bidding of the Catholic Church.

Gay rights activists, topless protesters greet Putin

Reuters news article

Russian President Vladimir Putin laughed off a protest against him by topless women in Germany on Monday, joking that he liked what he had seen, and was later greeted by gay rights protesters in Amsterdam.

Three members of the women's rights group Femen, which has staged protests against Russia's detention of the feminist punk band Pussy Riot around Europe, disrupted his visit to a trade fair in the German city of Hanover focusing on Russian business.

They stripped to the waist and shouted slogans calling the Russian leader a "dictator" before being covered up and bundled away by security men.

"Regarding this performance, I liked it," grinned Putin at a joint news conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, adding that it had helped to promote the trade fair.

"I did not catch what they were shouting, I did not even see if they were blondes, brunettes or chestnut-haired ..."

What a sexist pig.

Grinning cat, thanks for the link.  I read the article.  Kind of odd, tone deaf in many ways.  But also, showing some introspection.  Forced introspection but even that's an improvement.

If the republicans can give up their addiction to the religious right - fostered by Macchiavellians back to, what, Nixon?  Reagan? and concentrate on a philosophy that encompasses economic responsibility, and conservation of resources (conservatism?) as opposed to strip mining them, and back to "main street" business as opposed to mega massive ubercorporations, and "mind-your-own-business" social philosophy instead of govt intrusion into private lives, then they might have a better chance.

Actually, Repubs are not doing as bad as I would like.  They are in the Majority in congress.  The could overtake the senate in the next election, with attractive-enough candidates.

Grinning Cat, I have a HUGE confession to make......I pretended to be 28 years old once again and I took the survey.  I hope that doesn't skew their official results.  :)

There's a survey, "How Do YOU View the Republican Party", that John Aravosis wrote about on AmericaBLOG.

You know the Republicans are panicking when they ask their members if they should still be opposed to gay marriage, abortion, and marijuana. But that’s what a new RNC survey does, much to the chagrin, one would imagine, of the party’s “family values” base.

The survey is aimed at under-30s of any political affiliation. One of the questions is "What would a Republican have to do or say to get you to vote for her/him?" Whether the survey is actually official (and deniable?) or not, maybe they need to hear from us!

Aravosis again:

... the RNC now lists gays along with other groups that are discriminated against, implicitly acknowledging that gay rights are civil rights....

The final question, that’s perhaps the most surprising, is the RNC asking people what their sexual orientation is.... die-hard GOPers like to claim that ... it’s “just a sex practice.” But this survey treats it as far more....

Oh, and Dear RNC, “in the closet” is not a sexual orientation.

One of the final questions is "Do you go to church or consider yourself religious or spiritual?"

I used to tell people I had a Republican friend.  But I lied, I just have to admit the fact that I am prejudice.  If my daughter came home with one I'd throw them both out. It's a proven fact that most Republicans are mentally challenged and every thing they do is guided by this invisable man who lives in the sky. Most kids outgrow their invisable friend but not the Republican ones.  Now we find that the only reason they get married is to get a handout from the Government, is there no limit to their anti social behavior?

Sorry you guys had to find out this way. It is part of the super double secret hetero plan, and this dumb cow let it out of the bag too soon. Well, since you now know, I guess I can let you in on some of the other parts.

We straight men are looking for not only the tax benefits, but someone who can cook gourmet meals, keep the house immaculate, watch sports with, etc. Life will be FABULUUUUS!!!

Plus, we are planning on marrying all our heroes from the sports and entertainment world. Sexless, yes. But oh so fulfilling. Just sorry you had to find out this way. :)! (He says with tongue firmly in cheek). LOL.

Seriously, I find her a disgrace to all people, both straight and gay. Ya'll just keep on hanging in there, and remember, more of us are with you and support you than are against you. Peace.

Oh I agree with you.  What would be her test for marriage, if two hets want to marry for the benefits?  To quote a movie, "Stupid is as stupid does."  Someone should ask her if she is still fucking her husband or is she just with him for his benefits.
