As big a fan as I am of Eric Whitacre and his Virtual Choirs, this is one that slipped past me for some odd reason, up until today.  To my knowledge, this is the second time he has spoken before a TED audience, though this time with a hybrid choir assembled, part live, part virtual.  Eric himself admits that he is stretching the technology here and that, with the latency involved with internet communications, a true ensemble is not possible.  With Cloudburst, though, such precision isn't necessary, as you will see.

Whether it might be possible one day to conduct a virtual choir live or not isn't the point.  The point is that, once again, Eric makes magic with music.

Please enjoy.
