-- Edward Estlin Cummings (e e cummings)
That was 1944, and Mr. Cummings was very likely talking about World War II and its horrors.
And now, multiple people are telling the Kochs, the owners of BP and Shell and Exxon, those who own coal mines, anyone and everyone who has a hand and an investment in traditional energy sources that global warming is real and that We Caused It ... and they don't believe it, they won't believe it, they have no desire to believe it. They are so heavily invested in their way that they can't conceive of changing what they do or how they do it and most of all, to recognize a new truth of our times.
And it may be, as with Mr. Cummings' poem, that it will take the behavior of the environment, whacking them upside the head like that "nipponized bit of the old sixth avenue el" before they realize it ... by which time, of course, it may very well be far too late.
Thanks I will look into this movie.
I think I will have to buy this movie on DVD - looks really educational. Debunks the deniers of climate change.
