Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

It's amazing what you discover when you go looking for something you had no idea you'd find.  On an impulse, I pulled up Eric Whitacre's website to see if he had created any new pieces.  It would seem that he has: a song cycle called The City and…Continue

Something Beautiful – Nathan Phelps & Seth Andrews

Started by Loren Miller. Last reply by Loren Miller Nov 10. 7 Replies

And it is beautiful, too, indeed, I think some of Seth Andrews' best work.  Interesting point: rather than Seth's dulcet baritone doing the narration, this piece presses Nathan Phelps' deep bass intonation into service, bringing a different flavor…Continue

Great comments. I'm off to bed with a smile on my face and happy memories of mice on a mouse, the Hulk on silent screen, keyboard technology, a cute kitty, permission to shoot intruders, and good conversation. My contribution for tonight:

Funny cats

Why can't I get the film?

Oh well, one of these will get you there. Good night.

I find looking at cute animal pictures definitely improves my attitude (and makes me happy.)  Therefore, I am usually happy when on Hang With Friends.

Looking at cute animal pictures/videos may actually improve your work performance. Article link below.

It definitely improves my outlook on life, if not my work. Makes me happy.

Good one.  It is about atheism.  Proves that all gods invented by people are puny.

Comment by Loren Miller on September 28, 2012 at 8:53am

Okay ... ever wonder what it would have looked like if The Avengers had been made during the silent film era?  Apparently someone did, and this is his take on one scene:

Now maybe that has NOTHING to do with atheism, but that is a LAUGH in any man's language!!!

Love the cats. George Takei has dedicated a whole chapter of his newest book to lolcats and the internet. Oh my!
