Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

My take on the recent melt down at Hang With Friends, of which I missed part, is that some of us were tripped up by a habit of thought. It's something we learn growing up, and use without realizing how much pain it can generate -  failing to…Continue

A "friend" sent this today:

Unhappy Muslims -

I have to admit, this is brilliant...never heard it put this way...so succinct and to the point...plain and simple!!!

THE MUSLIMS ARE NOT HAPPY!

They're not happy in Gaza ..
They're not happy in Egypt ..
They're not happy in Libya ..
They're not happy in Morocco ..
They're not happy in Iran ..
They're not happy in Iraq ..
They're not happy in Yemen ..
They're not happy in Afghanistan ..
They're not happy in Pakistan ..
They're not happy in Syria ..
They're not happy in Lebanon ..

SO, WHERE ARE THEY HAPPY?

They're happy in Australia .
They're happy in Canada .
They're happy in England ..
They're happy in France ..
They're happy in Italy ..
They're happy in Germany ..
They're happy in Sweden ..
They're happy in the USA ..
They're happy in Norway ..
They're happy in Holland .
They're happy in Denmark .

Basically, they're happy in every country that is not Muslim and unhappy in every country that is!

AND WHO DO THEY BLAME?

Not Islam.
Not their leadership.
Not themselves.

THEY BLAME THE COUNTRIES THEY ARE HAPPY IN!

AND THEN; They want to change those countries to be like....
THE COUNTRY THEY CAME FROM WHERE THEY WERE UNHAPPY!

Excuse me, but I can't help wondering...

How damn dumb can you get?

I wrote back to him that this was exactly how the Puritans and other Protestant groups behaved when they 1) emigrated from England to Holland, and then when the Dutch got fed up with them, 2) came across the Atlantic to North America.  (Forgot to mention the Catholic Crutch's behavior in Mexico and South america.)

Patricia, I just looked through your photo album and you have a lovely family of cats sharing your home. I look forward to seeing the before and after of your remodel.

Just been to a major Edvard Munch exhibition. He actually got (sort of) happy after he got dried out from the booze and spent 8 months at a nerve sanitorium. This is from before though, and more typical of what he's known for.

Good morning all. Where did you night dreams take you? To places of beauty, I hope. What a transition back to wakefulness. Here is a little song I like to listen to upon waking, Mr. Bill Withers.

'Lovely Day'

Enjoy, have a wonderful day. Keep a song in your heart, and a dance in your step as you go forward. Peace.

Sounds like a wonderful project Patricia.

Wish you the best on your remodeling.

Patricia - Ruth is right - we would love to see your remodeled house if you would like to share. I hope they get it all fixed up for you.
Joan - yes your story was funny. Thanks for sharing.
Pumpkin - I love it. It's very tasty!
Have a good night! Early day tomorrow.

When you're all done, maybe you can share a picture of your finished remodel, Patricia. I haven't carved a pumpkin for decades. Now it seems like a waste of good food. Pumpkin is one of the low carb vegetables I can eat. But I do appreciate the art, the beauty, and the childhood fun.

Steph, truth be told, I can no longer enjoy a nice glass of red wine with dinner. My old body just does not tolerate alcohol and I guess that is caused by diabetes. In any even, I thought it was a funny story.

Joan your tomatoes sound really wonderful.

As for alcohol I abstain from it. None for me thanks.

Hope you all are doing good today.

You can buy pumpkin carving patterns for the pumpkins.

And a special set of knives to cut the pumpkin with.

It's so much fun - then you can bake the pumpkin seeds after to eat.
