Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

It's amazing what you discover when you go looking for something you had no idea you'd find.  On an impulse, I pulled up Eric Whitacre's website to see if he had created any new pieces.  It would seem that he has: a song cycle called The City and…Continue

Something Beautiful – Nathan Phelps & Seth Andrews

Started by Loren Miller. Last reply by Loren Miller Nov 10. 7 Replies

And it is beautiful, too, indeed, I think some of Seth Andrews' best work.  Interesting point: rather than Seth's dulcet baritone doing the narration, this piece presses Nathan Phelps' deep bass intonation into service, bringing a different flavor…Continue

Took this from FB too.

Betty & Tim were killed in an auto accident on the eve of their wedding. When
they reached the pearly gates, St. Peter met them. They asked if they could
still be married in Heaven.

Well, let me find out if this is possible. Stay here and I will be right

Six months passed and finally Peter returned.

Yes, we can do this for you.

Well, as we have spent so much time together waiting for your answer, we need
to know that if things don't work out there's a possibility that we could be
divorced?' To which St. Peter answered It took me six months to find a priest
up long do you think it will take me to find a lawyer?

So ... let's try this:

I could put: "a Mommy when I grow up" on the left side of the ledger and "a Mommy ... or a doctor or engineer or journalist or musician or ... Anything I Want!" on the right, but I thought that would break the overall theme of what was going on with the original.

I ain't much of an artist, and I hear you as regards that young beauty's sexual and gender-based possibilities, but I don't see it working in that context.  Now, that said ... gimme a couple minutes.

Mindy, I am so glad to learn that you feel "fine" and enjoying your enforced rest. Will be looking forward to learning the report results. It is really hard to not know the facts. These are going to be good! And as to taking up space and time ... space and time very well spent.

Ian Mason  I love your poster, may I post it on Facebook with attribution to you, or anonymous?

Less knowledge = stronger convictions

I just posted your poster on Facebook with attribution to you. I know I will get responses from it. I haven't gotten responses from the other pieces. Maybe everybody has turned me off. Oh well, the information is in the ether!
