Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Hello Friends,I was ruminating a bit today on my sixty-some years existence. My mind went back to teenage years when I first figured out religion is not only obnoxiously loud, but also nothing I wanted anything to do with. Truly. I knew by age 15…Continue

Carl, a minimum wage fast-food joint is NOT my idea of promoting job growth.  It's a dead end for desperate talented people whose real work has been outsourced to Asia where life is cheap.

But you know that.

IMO there is nothing more hypocritical than a public xian...

I signed the petition as well, Patricia.  The first Chik-fil-a opened up here in Chicago last year, but not without controversy and a fight.  They finally got their way and approval.  Many city counsel members vocally apposed allowing a company with a history of discriminatory polices to do business here, but they were also blasted for standing in the way of free market and for stifling job growth.

Monday already? Send in the clowns.

Thanks for the petition link, Patricia. Signed.

I loved your cartoons, Ian and booklover.

Patricia, signed it and passed it along to about 20 friends who still have open minds after all these years.

Ian, funny! too close to reality to not cry.

I see your point.

Seen the video at last! Wonderful to watch and it must have been wonderful to do!

Randy, I can't skate or dance anymore.  I just push my walker around the house, and get it hung up on the rugs and brittle linoleum in the kitchen.  I leave the fancy stuff to the cats.  (Although Pumpkin's best "trick" these days is rolling onto his back so I can pet his tummy.)

About half way through, Felaine's video cut off. But I got the idea. I envy ice skaters. I can't even roller skate!

I'd be honoured, Carl, but of course your English is better than mine. It's just that from correcting homework I got the habit of reading with a bit more attention. And I miss a lot too!

Can't see Felaine's skating yet - that PC again!! Will try later.

And now it won't post a comment at all! I could throw it from the window...
