Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

You might think that Betty Bowers, America's Best Christian, would be stepping outside of her comfort zone in tackling the concept of patriotism.  As it turns out, not only does she have a proper handle on the term and its implications, she also…Continue

The day finally arrived.  Ken Ham's Ark Encounter opened on 7 July, 2016 ... to something a bit less than Disney-sized crowds, and more than a couple dissenting voices!  Seth Andrews has gathered a quartet of significant participants in the protest…Continue

I'm so glad you got good news, Mindy!

Mindy, have you tried Marijuana? I have never had so much as a cigarette in my mouth and I don't think I would try mj; however, some report relief using it. Frankly, I don't like being around people who do use it, it makes some slimy sweet.

Larry, I share your interest in European and British history, gardening, books, genealogy, chin wags, learning about people from different places and you may want to block me because I love to talk about economics, politics and religion. However, there are many other people on this site that like the same topics as you, and there are some very special places that might appeal to you.

Mindy, you have no idea how happy I am to learn that your tests came back benign ... I was very concerned. I know, I am the one who says worry is of no use, and I was waiting for your test results.

Now, surely there is some relief to be had from your stomach condition. I will keep looking.

Hi Everyone;  I joined this group in hopes of meeting others interested in history, (European/British), gardening, books in general, genealogy, friendly chat, learning more about others in different parts of the US/world, without being grilled about my religious/political beliefs!  I’m 71, male, retired US Postal Worker, married to same wonderful woman over 50 years, semi-housebound because of 9 years medical conditions.  I help my wife with yard work, house work, and have a few small raised vegetable beds.  I practice some light meditation from time to time to deal with my physical discomfort.  I enjoy live chat and would be interested in a regular Google + or Skype video hangout (perhaps with morning coffee, Central Daylight Time in the US) if anyone were interested in chatting with up to 10 participates on G+.   Looking forward to meeting others in this room having similar interests.  Until later………..
