Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Get better soon, Carl!

Carl, I just now read your post telling of your health problems. I am so sorry your kidneys aren't functioning normally and cellulitis enters the scene. This can't be good news. How are you feeling? Have you been able to keep your spirits up? Do you expect to have information about your prognosis? Cellulitis is sometimes a condition that develops with diabetes. Do you have symptoms of that disease?

Please do keep us up to date on how you are doing, as you are able.

Welcome back, Carl!  Hospitals are NO fun!

Ian,  have found that the floor is 2" or more closer than it used to be, slipperier, and harder on the bod when I fall down.

I have one of those trigger-operated (and magnetized) reacher-grabber things for picking stuff up (or getting things down from high shelves)

Hope you get some good news, Carl.

Age plays funny tricks: print gets smaller and the floor gets further away and harder to reach.

Hello, Friends.  I've been a bit absent from here lately.  I just spent another five days in the hospital.  I was just released on Saturday.  I was sent back to the hospital with a possible blood clot that actually turned out to be a very bad case of cellulitis instead.  While there, they also discovered that my kidney function again was failing.  I ended up having a kidney biopsy this past Friday.  I should know the results later this week.  The results should give an indication as to why my kidneys are in such bad shape.  I suspect it's genetic, as I've had minor kidney issues since I was a child.  It's now catching up to me as I age.

I've only had access to A/N from my smart phone and relplying is quite tedious, especially since I don't get my new glasses until this coming Thursday.  Type face on the smartphone is just too small for me to see comfortably.  I finally have access to a desktop computer today at my sister's house.  But I have kept up with all the comings and goings here in this group.  I miss not being able to respond in a more timely manner.
