Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

A Prayer for Our Nation (Betty Bowers)

Started by Loren Miller. Last reply by Patricia on Tuesday. 1 Reply

I'm going to keep this one short and sweet.  Mrs. Betty Bowers, America's Best Christian, has seen what is going on with the current occupant of the Oval Office, and my impression is that she is not at all happy with it.  True to her citizenship,…Continue

Any Babymetal fans here besides me? I have to ask because 1) I really like Babymetal and 2) Babymetal unknowingly played a role in my journey out of religion. For those who are unfamiliar with Babymetal, here is a link to one of their most popular…Continue

If you could rid the world of one thing, what would it be?

Started by Idaho Spud. Last reply by Ruth Anthony-Gardner Sep 11. 30 Replies

Today, I heard Seth Andrews talk about the question, "If you could rid the world of one thing, what would it be?"  My first thought was religion, but after a few seconds I decided it would be irrational or anti-scientific thinking.  That would take…Continue

Eating Our Own: How You Can Save the Movement (David Smalley | The Thinking Atheist)

While I've been peripherally aware of him for a while, David Smalley has not spent much time in the center of my focus when it came to scoping out atheist material on YouTube or elsewhere ... at least up until now.  His talk – Eating Our Own – came…Continue

Hahahaha.....those are hilarious, Thomas!!!! I'm keeping those!

In the meantime while waiting, the other one went, so walking is almost impossible & pain is terrible 90% of the time.

I tried cannabis oil, & it worked at first, but not now, & I can't take prescription narcotics.

Tylenol is it, but doesn't work all that well, but need to take something!

Joan, going to Colorado for 6 months? Tell us more.

Patricia, how have we gone without you for so long?!! Love having you back. Good luck with hip replacement.

So they don't know how to get through the work - understandable, with all the extra patients, but bad news for you!

Luca has almost the same problem with the gender clinic, the waiting list is forty weeks now and calling gets you only an answering machine...

Yes, I called the surgeon's office & got told the lists were all up to the hospital.

I called the hospital & got a recording, no real person.

When we were in Prince George during the evac, my son took me directly to the hospital to ask, & they couldn't tell me anything there, & all they got when they called admitting, was the recording as well.

Have you tried to phone them, Patricia? Although it's almost certain the waiting list has become longer because of their extra work.

I can't open all the links but it's a ghastly scenario that emerges from the messages and warnings.

I do too Ruth. I just wish I knew when. I'm 7 months into my 3 to 6 month wait time.

Sometimes it takes blunt to get through to some people!

I hope your hip replacement goes well, Particia.

Tyler County Emergency Management

August 30 at 5:30pm

The U.S. Army Corp of Engineers has advised the Tyler County office of Emergency Management that the flood gates were opened to 100 feet at 3:00 pm CSDST. River levels will rise to near seventy nine feet. With additional rain fall accumulations, a potential elevation could reach near eighty two feet. All residents living in Mt. Neches, Barlow Lake Estates, Works Bluff on CR 4415, Sheffield Ferry and Bottom Loop-CR 4700 who have not already evacuated must do so immediately. Anyone who chooses to not heed this directive cannont expect to be rescued and should write their social security numbers in permanent marker on their arm so their bodies can be identified. The loss of life and property is certain.

Fake news took a back seat to reality for once.

Good to meet you too Thomas. I'm in Williams Lake, the middle of BC called the Cariboo.

Hahahaha....religious & porn.....

Comment by Thomas Murray on September 1, 2017 at 5:48pm

 Hi Patricia,

 Nice to meet you.

My wife is Canadian and all her relatives live in and around Toronto, Ontario.

Three people can't link to NG. I have never subscribed to NG yet I get the link...hummm maybe the link is cross connected in with my neighbor? Maybe this is why I also get connected to a porn site... as far as I know... most of the neighbors here are religious....
