Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

I heard that on last night's news, & thought, what a timely name to have right now....hahahaha.....

Have a great time Randy.

Fires are still raging, with many evacuated, & so far, not to near us. The smoke was tolerable for a couple of days, but its socked right back in now & down to ground level. Laundry dried in the dryer rather than clothes line, & a mask to go outside if I must. Just glad the nights are getting longer, & cooler.

Can't scooter in winter because of snow/ice, & now can't scooter in summer because of smoke! SHEESH!!!!

Glad you're getting done with your rearranging Plinius. It would be too much for us to attempt.

A stopped clock is right twice a day. Something Trump said turned out to have some truth behind it. Official statistics from Sweden show that non-western immigrants commit 58% of reported rapes. The percentage is lower for 'date rapes', higher for 'stranger' assaults and very high for group rapes. The statistics are lower (50%) for Denmark but show the same trend. The Left is bleating about 'cultural misunderstandings' but I don't accept that. Decent people know that hurting others is wrong, full stop. I think these offenders, like westerners who travel to Thailand looking for child sex are just plain bastards.

Sometimes the jokes almost write themselves.

There's been quite a spate of lively cracks concerning the CEO of the company that owns paragon of high quality journalism the National Enquirer, David Pecker, and the treasure trove of slime that had been hidden in his safe.

That sounds good, Randall. I hope you enjoy yourself.

Well done, Chris. I hope you have a well-earned rest.

Sounds nice! Succes, Randall!

How's the wildfire news, Patricia?

We're almost at the end of our home overhauling, and about time after four weeks. we've worked like movers, and both not built like movers...

Busy day Saturday. Our little community (pop 1600) is having its annual "Summers End Festival".

First thing, I'm participating in the 5k run. I'll probably be the only "over 65" entrant. (I'm 75.) I'm hoping I can run the full 3.1 miles without stopping.

Then there's a parade where two of my grandchildren are playing the high school's band. I'll be watching with 3 other small grandchildren. We'll go to the car show, have ice cream, do rides at the "carnival", etc.

I hope I survive the day!

We don't drive Ruth, so we have to rely on transport by buses if we get alerts or orders.

I've been worried about your proximity to the wildfires Patricia. Thanks for the update. I see your point about it being impractical to just drive to escape the smoke. But face masks are quite burdensome, especially for sleeping. And they don't really remove the fine particles which are most dangerous. A HEPA filter inside a closed bedroom would be more practical.

In order to be HEPA certified, air filters have to remove 99.97 percent of particles that are exactly 0.3 microns in diameter — a size that’s especially difficult to filter mechanically. That is also close to the size of wildfire smoke particles, which are mostly in the 0.4 to 0.7 micron range, according to the E.P.A. HEPA filters remove much larger and much smaller particles, as well.
