Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

So, this morning, I was at my local coffee shop as I am most weekdays between bus runs. I do the editing on my husband's books so I had my laptop with me. My wallpaper is a picture I found online sometime back of a double helix with the word atheist…Continue

Men who challenge men to stop violence

Many men join in the effort to reduce violence against women and children and other men. He speaks of the need to place responsibility on men instead of focusing on women to stop violence. He offers a breath of fresh air, as do so many of the men on…Continue

What are their options? The aquifer that provided a necessary element for successful crops for the past 100 years is predicted to dry up in 20 years. Four generations of farmers in one family may probably not be able to last for the fifth…Continue

Evangelicals Breaking Up with Jesus (Betty Bowers)

Has evangelical Christianity lost sight of Christ?  Seems to me that there are a whole lot of evangelical Christians who are presuming to represent Jesus by not representing him or misrepresenting him or – let's be honest here – talking out of their…Continue

The following showed up this morning in my YouTube daily feed, and I have to say, it just charmed the socks off of me.  This is what animation really can do in the hands of a creative and skilled team.  Really, it's what animation has done for darn…Continue

Good for you, Ian! And Jimmy looks good!

Family gatherings: I spent last weekend with my daughter, her husband and my grandson James aka Jimmy Two-teeth and had a lovely time.

Good news, Ian! here it's about the same, but I think the government is only mouthing what we want to hear.

Patricia, I like the "He should not be hired!" video.

Ruth, the image of a woman popping her teeth out when confronted with an intruder introduces a new weapon. Whatever works!

Randy, a special day for you and your cousins! I wish the wait staff had taken the photo so that you could have been included in the photo.

Ian, good news to learn that there exist reasonable conservatives. "They're feeling the pressure from below." We need a nation as willing to use pressure as yours. It is the only responsible thing to do.

Nice photo, Randy.

The newest proposal by the Danish government: by 2030 all new cars being sold must be hybrid, electric or other 'green' driven. This is from a conservative coalition. They're feeling the pressure from below. I don't know if it will become a reality but it's a good goal to set.

A nice family gathering, Randall.

Grannies can be pretty tough. Don't mess with them.

It's been several years (maybe 10?) since my cousins from my mother's sister got together. My sister and I met them at a local restaurant to catch up on our lives. We've all over 70 years old. My 3 male cousins are the "fat men" in the photo. Genetics are funny, as my sisters and I are short and thin. Anyway, we had a good time.

Left to right: cousin #1 and wife, cousin #2, cousin #3's daughter, cousin #3 (in red), my sister.
