Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Thanks, Loren! Happy Pi Day to all!

(A friend points out that we can also celebrate on July 22 (22/7), Pi Approximation Day.)

(Yes, sometimes pi are squared!)

Re last night’s 60 Minutes, as a 30-year ACLU member and a 2-year  NRA member, I found it interesting.

I joined the NRA partly cuz it also supports the First Amendment. I DON’T LIKE ITS BECOMING A GOP/RUSSIA SUBSIDIARY.

The not knowing is terrible. A friend of my eldest son also disappeared, & there is so much wilderness here, finding anyone is pretty much impossible.

So many people disappear completely, and you keep wondering how and why. My first boyfriend disappeared some 40 years ago..

So many unsolved murders, & disappearances.....no amount of praying has changed anything.

Comment by Randall Smith on March 11, 2019 at 7:30am

It's been 2 years since two young girls (age 13) were murdered in Delphi Indiana, just 15 miles from me. The case has not been solved. Of course, vigils still occur, prayers abounding. If and when the killer is ever found, I'm sure all prayers will have been answered. In the meantime.....

One other thing: Does anybody else watch "60 Minutes"? Still a great show. A good one last night.

The video on homesteading was a bit sad for me. All of that work and land, but the husband still needs a full time job to make ends meet.

Thanks, Joan! Living in the country on a farm is a dream for many town people, but those who try that lifestyle return VERY fast, as the hard work is not included in the dreams. I always wanted an earthship with a veg garden at the edge of town, but my knees and back voted against it...

You'd be surprised to see how little has changed for Luca and me. We see people in town look a little longer at us, and some people don't want to know us any longer, and that's all.

OOPPSS correction, our family spreads from 2 months old to 83 years old.

Ian, working on a farm does draw individuals into the clan and provides more opportunity to experience and show love. Sadly, few small farmers' incomes can support families and at least one individual has to work at a paying job that may be full of drudgery and bad tempers. The physical work is challenging and careful management makes for better results.

Randy, the stresses of farming, with fluctuating income, changes in buyers' eating habits, the terrible floods and storms such as our daughter and SIL experienced, must put incredible stress on the whole family. The drudgery of farming chores can be overwhelming and require careful management. I can understand why your SIL wants to try different crops. I feel for them.

Plinius, your urban lifestyle presents other challenges. When I think of you I also think of the lovely boulevard and bank building in which you live. Choosing to be childless and being in a transgender marriage offers other opportunities of lifestyle. You must have had some interesting discussions over the years.
