Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

So, this morning, I was at my local coffee shop as I am most weekdays between bus runs. I do the editing on my husband's books so I had my laptop with me. My wallpaper is a picture I found online sometime back of a double helix with the word atheist…Continue

Men who challenge men to stop violence

Many men join in the effort to reduce violence against women and children and other men. He speaks of the need to place responsibility on men instead of focusing on women to stop violence. He offers a breath of fresh air, as do so many of the men on…Continue

What are their options? The aquifer that provided a necessary element for successful crops for the past 100 years is predicted to dry up in 20 years. Four generations of farmers in one family may probably not be able to last for the fifth…Continue

Evangelicals Breaking Up with Jesus (Betty Bowers)

Has evangelical Christianity lost sight of Christ?  Seems to me that there are a whole lot of evangelical Christians who are presuming to represent Jesus by not representing him or misrepresenting him or – let's be honest here – talking out of their…Continue

The following showed up this morning in my YouTube daily feed, and I have to say, it just charmed the socks off of me.  This is what animation really can do in the hands of a creative and skilled team.  Really, it's what animation has done for darn…Continue

Hi Randy.  Yes they keep me busy.  I can't believe they are 14 and 16! They were more fun when they were small ;) Both are on the dance team now.  Still making all A's. I don't think I could do without them close to me.  I suppose it's what we get used to.

That's sad, Randy.

Sad news, Randall. So many people worry about the next generations...

How ya doing, Kathy? Granddaughters keeping you busy? Always happy to see your comments pop up.

Ever since my Honduran born grandkids (teenagers) returned to the states for a year, I've hardly seen them. Since they don't visit, I treated them to an Olive Garden dinner (their choice) two nights ago. We had a good visit, albeit strained. When asked, they said they have mixed feelings about returning to Honduras in June. Understandable, since they have spent all but this past year growing up there. I feel sorry for them. Crazy, mega religious, father is the reason. I'll "lose" my daughter again. Sad.

I know what you mean about using a little phone to communicate with anyone. I stay on my computer as much as possible. I am very happy to have you in our midst again.

Hi all.  Thank you Joan.  Carl has been missing since before I lost contact when I lost internet access.  Good to see everyone else is here and doing ok. I pop in and check on everyone.  Just very difficult on this little phone.

Plinius, I wrote a response to Luka's blog but I don't see it. I must not have posted it.

I want to say to both of you that you are very special people, you and Luka inspire me and encourage me that one has choices in life and one has the right to make those choices that are right for one. The blog holds my interest from start to finish with the photos and composition.
