Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Evangelicals Breaking Up with Jesus (Betty Bowers)

Has evangelical Christianity lost sight of Christ?  Seems to me that there are a whole lot of evangelical Christians who are presuming to represent Jesus by not representing him or misrepresenting him or – let's be honest here – talking out of their…Continue

The following showed up this morning in my YouTube daily feed, and I have to say, it just charmed the socks off of me.  This is what animation really can do in the hands of a creative and skilled team.  Really, it's what animation has done for darn…Continue

“Life is fun when seen through the eyes of children.”???

Joan, that implies the fun has ended.

If life isn’t fun when seen through the eyes of adults, what wrongs had been done them when they were children?

I had a most splendid day, playing with my 4-year old great-granddaughter, Brooklyn! We started out by cleaning the kitchen of last night's snacking mess, and we made a fruit smoothie for the family. Then we went to the greenhouse and picked leaves of spinach and pulled green onions. Back to the kitchen and she helped do the prep-work for bacon, hashbrowns, eggs, spinach, and cheese, all mixed together in a cast iron skillet. She helped with clean up, doing all but the knives and breakable dishes. Next, it was to my bedroom where she got out her toy stethoscope and we checked each other's heart, just pretend, of course, and used the real blood pressure monitor, being careful to mimic the technique of the nurse who checks her mother's pressure. She has a toy ear scope and she reported that my ears were clean. She scribbled out a prescription and handed it to me with the air of a professional, and I wrote out "Rx, H2O, PRN." She took her prescription to her mother who read, "prescription, water, as needed."

We helped Laura take care of Brenton, Brooklyn's 5-month old brother. Their mother dropped them off late last night as she was on her way to take a friend to the hospital to have a baby boy.

I shall get a real stethoscope, a microscope, and a telescope to use with these two little great-grandchildren.

Life is fun when seen through the eyes of children.

I was able to turn it around, but don't know how to make a smaller photo. Can someone else solve this problem?

Ian, see if this works.  These are splendid photos, and you continue to be a Dapper Don Ian.
