Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Stay at home order

Not only should the Federal government issue the "Stay at home" order, but all medications should be negotiated through the nation and health care should be provided to all inhabitants, citizens or not. From where will the funding come? From those…Continue

And the other shoe has dropped here.  As of Monday, my social worker wife will be working from home and by phone, rather than seeing clients in person at her office.  We both will be curious to see how THIS works out!

True, Chris! However, it isn't easy. I worry about my children, 3 of which are affected, job-wise, by this catastrophe. My dental hygienist daughter is now at home waiting for the dentist to reopen. No paycheck. At least she gets to spend "quality time" with her three youngsters. And her husband, a vegetable/hemp farmer, has nothing this time of year. Tough times.

Lots of things to find to do. We don't always need people to be doing things with.

Most of the time we cut each other's hair.

I spent 30 years cutting my own hair....I can certainly do it again.

Coronavirus Pandemic World Map/Count

I agree, it made no sense to get a hair cut with the risk high and growing exponentially. So, my hair grows on, uncut!

The reason I like Chris Martenson's information about the coronavirus is that he could see it coming based on the available information coming out of China, which was virtually non-existent. He could tell the numbers weren't making sense and so he looked harder and deeper only to discover the world was in for an epidemic if not a pandemic.

In 1918, an estimated 675,000 Americans died of the flu. There were no vaccines.

I was born in 1936 during a scarlet fever epidemic. There were no vaccines; treatment now involves antibiotics.

While I was in high school, parents and children were terrified of polio. I and my cohorts were not permitted to go to swimming pools or lakes for fear of the disease. In 1841, the "first documented outbreak of polio describes a cluster of eight to 10 cases of infantile paralysis in West Feliciana, Louisiana." The crippling disease and fear spread across the nation and around the world. Polio: 3300 dead, over 57,000 cases reported.
