Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Evangelicals Unmasked (Betty Bowers)

After roughly two months of "shelter-in-place," it would seem that evangelical Christians are champing at the bit to get back to their money-making-machines churches, because empty pews mean empty collection plates, which means no moolah in pastors'…Continue

#NeverBiden is the New #MAGA! (Betty Bowers)

Apparently there is a new hashtag out there: #NeverBiden.  Now, I'm not much of a hashtag follower, but it would seem as though America's Best Christian, Betty Bowers IS ... and she's not at all happy with the point of view represented by the…Continue

Thou Shalt Stay the Hell Home! (Betty Bowers)

Never let it be said that Mrs. Betty Bowers, America's Best Christian, is a scofflaw as it comes to the whole "shelter-in-place" order ... ESPECIALLY when she has such a FABULOUS place to shelter in!  Problem is, she sees way too many other…Continue

Stay at home order

Started by Joan Denoo. Last reply by Ruth Anthony-Gardner Apr 6. 5 Replies

Not only should the Federal government issue the "Stay at home" order, but all medications should be negotiated through the nation and health care should be provided to all inhabitants, citizens or not. From where will the funding come? From those…Continue

I'm stealing that joke, Patricia. You seem to find the best.

A llot of the time soent with girlfriend Elna plus reading and music. Denmark is slowly opening up. Art galleries and museums opened today, with certain restrictions based on commen sense and hand sanitizer. We did go on a short cycle ride to the coast a couple of days ago for a walk on the beach and something to eat.

With no sports on the telly, plus being sick of watching coverage of the coronavirus (and Trump), I've been watching old reruns of The Lone Ranger and Gunsmoke, some of which go back to 1949! They're pretty inane, but more entertaining than most anything else. How about you?

Little David was in his 5th grade class in a San Francisco school when the teacher asked the children what their fathers did for a living.
All the typical answers came up - fireman, policeman, salesman, doctor, lawyer.
David was being uncharacteristically quiet, so the teacher asked him about his father.
“My father's an exotic dancer in a gay cabaret and takes off all his clothes in front of other men and they put money in his underwear. Sometimes he, if they are really good generous tippers, goes home with them.
The teacher, obviously shaken by this statement, hurriedly set the other children to work on some exercises and took little David aside to ask him,
"Is that really true about your father?”
“No, of course not;" said David. "He works for Donald Trump, but I was too embarrassed to say that in front of the other kids!"

Masks definitely make it harder to communicate. We all miss hugs.

Try talking to a demented aunt from behind a facemask, through a plexiglass screen... She hardly recognized me and couldn't understand me at all. Before Covid19 times we kept contact by hugging and kissing, but now there's almost nothing left. But I'm glad that she turns to the nurses for company and comfort.

We're doing quite well here, despite having Washington state south of us, & Alaska northwest of us. We live in the Interior Health Region.
