Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

It would seem as though Mrs. Betty Bowers, America's Best Christian, has caught wind of the "cancel culture" which has been doing the rounds in the United States, surrounding the removal of certain statuary which celebrates the losing side of the…Continue

Evangelicals Unmasked (Betty Bowers)

Started by Loren Miller. Last reply by Grinning Cat May 26. 4 Replies

After roughly two months of "shelter-in-place," it would seem that evangelical Christians are champing at the bit to get back to their money-making-machines churches, because empty pews mean empty collection plates, which means no moolah in pastors'…Continue

Apparently there is a new hashtag out there: #NeverBiden.  Now, I'm not much of a hashtag follower, but it would seem as though America's Best Christian, Betty Bowers IS ... and she's not at all happy with the point of view represented by the…Continue

Never let it be said that Mrs. Betty Bowers, America's Best Christian, is a scofflaw as it comes to the whole "shelter-in-place" order ... ESPECIALLY when she has such a FABULOUS place to shelter in!  Problem is, she sees way too many other…Continue

A 1.1 million dollar hospital bill!!?

Coronavirus survival comes with a $1.1 million, 181-page price tag

Remember Michael Flor, the longest-hospitalized COVID-19 patient who, when he unexpectedly did not die, was jokingly dubbed “the miracle child?”
Now they can also call him the million-dollar baby.
Flor, 70, who came so close to death in the spring that a night-shift nurse held a phone to his ear while his wife and kids said their final goodbyes, is recovering nicely these days at his home in West Seattle. But he says his heart almost failed a second time when he got the bill from his health care odyssey the other day.............

So, a real life validation of the fictional portrayals of Canadian police bias against Native Americans from Burden of Truth (TV series). Thanks.

Such a horrible story, Patricia! The police could be very useful if they could learn to defuse dangerous situations, if they helped people they could remind them of rules in the meantime. This description shows they're nothing but bullies.

Man joins cops on ride-along, learns how cruel they are: 'It isn’t an accident; it’s the point'

Professor and journalist Sean Trainor revealed his learnings from a ride-along with his friend who was a cop, highlighting why police departments must be dismantled.

Over the past few weeks, we have seen national discourse on the effectiveness of police departments across the United States. Some have wondered, "Are the police even necessary?" While many believe that a strong police force is the only way to ensure the safety of our communities, one man on Twitter has shown us that perhaps the police are the reason why several minority communities are unsafe in the first place. In a shocking Twitter thread, University of Florida professor and op-ed journalist Sean Trainor shared his insights from when he joined one of his friends, a police officer, on a ride-along. Ultimately, he revealed that most police officers tend to be inherently cruel while on the job.

Are YOU a budding astronaut?  Do YOU think you could dock the Crew Dragon to the International Space Station?  Why not give it a shot?  SpaceX has released a pretty slick simulator which does an impressive job of recreating that experience.  Word of warning: this is NOT a game that goes quickly, though once you get your "rates" nulled out it goes pretty smooth ... IF you're not approaching the station too fast!  Here's a screenshot of the sim to give you an idea:
