Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

10 Tricks from 46 (Betty Bowers)

Started by Loren Miller. Last reply by Ruth Anthony-Gardner Nov 6, 2017. 3 Replies

Apparently, Betty Bowers, America's Best Christian, has been slumming.  That is to say, she's been talking to Mike Pence [gasp!].  It would seem as though Mike has offered some of his not-so-personal tricks of the trade on how to be a 21st century…Continue

Speak English? YOU FIRST! (Betty Bowers)

Started by Loren Miller. Last reply by Donald R Barbera Sep 27, 2017. 5 Replies

Honestly, the title to this piece is badly under-representative of the content.  To be far more accurate, what we have here is Mrs. Betty Bowers, America's Best Christian, going on a rant.  Before you say it ... Say WHAAAA?  Betty Bowers ranting? …Continue

10 Things About Patriotism (Betty Bowers)

Started by Loren Miller. Last reply by Plinius Sep 26, 2017. 2 Replies

It seems as though lately, Mrs. Betty Bowers, America's Best Christian, is evolving into America's Best Patriot.  She has recently been taking some fairly well-aimed shots at a certain Orange Nightmare and his sycophantic hangers-on, regarding the…Continue

Kathy, I'm sorry for your loss.

Kathy! I didn't know your husband died. Are you just now telling us? I'm sorry. Hope you're coping alright.

Bertold, thanks for the report on Daniel.

O Kathy - and you rush your message in a bad weather report! I hope you can manage and the good weather will come back soon!

Kathy, this difficult winter takes its toll on you. Do you have family and friends nearby who could help lighten your load? The grieving process presents a long, lonely road; I wish you had someone to comfort you. A nice warm blanket, a hot beverage, someone to talk to who understands the grieving process, are all devices that may help get through the long winter.

Sounds terrible, Kathy!

My husband died two months ago today. We're having record breaking low temperatures. We  had a freezing rain with two different snow storms after them. I can't get my car up the very long driveway. We've been under a state of emergency until today. And I just want to hide until summer comes and hope things get better.

Summer is a long time away for us.

Well its none to comfortable waiting for that shoe to drop, I tell ya! He was told last September the batteries would give out in 3 to 5 months, so its got to be any time now. When it does sound, he's got 3 months to get the arrangements made & the op done.

Patricia, that sounds scary.

I hope Daniel is well.

I would hope so.

I know for anything major for us, we have to go out of town. I had my mastectomy, lumbar laminectomy, etc, in Kamloops as well as things like MRI's. So has Rick. I had my hip replacement in Prince George, but we have a medical bus that runs north/south 3 times a week for $40.00 fare, so that worked great for that trip. Rick has to go to Victoria for his defib/pacemaker replacement so will try to fly for that.....which is supposed to be imminent with whenever the battery alarm sounds.

I don't know Patricia.  I imagine there are experts in any major city that can do the job, and probably would reschedule patients with less important problems if a optometrist called him and told him of a detached retina.
