Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

The following is one of TheraminTrees' most thorough-going pieces, wherein he looks at the process and techniques whereby a "religious" organization (which will sound VERY familiar to most of us, once introductions are made!) takes a person who…Continue

Evangelicals Breaking Up with Jesus (Betty Bowers)

Has evangelical Christianity lost sight of Christ?  Seems to me that there are a whole lot of evangelical Christians who are presuming to represent Jesus by not representing him or misrepresenting him or – let's be honest here – talking out of their…Continue

Joan, our courage was all spent in the long years before Luca came out. Every day we had to deal with the depression that hung over our lives and we discovered its origin only when Luca came out. These days we're celebrating and enjoying ourselves. In two days we'll finish our 42nd trip around the sun together!

Plinius, your shared life with Luca presented each of you  with remarkable challenges and you sound happy and content. I admire your courage, both of you, and life sounds good. Thanks for sharing.

Ruth, I am so sorry to learn of your many heath problems! What is an UPWalker Lite? Oh! goodness! It is a marvelous machine and opens opportunity to function in an active life-style.

Many modern scientific, medical, and technical developments in recent years offers positive support that our parents and before did not have. I am truly grateful!

Please keep us informed on your experience with UPWalker. I am interested in the benefits you experience and further problems you have to confront.

Success with the scooter, Ruth! It could be pleasant too! Here we shop together now, Luca pulling the trolley. Heavy things are delivered at home. Slowly getting used to have less possibilities and less strength, one eye at the future when there's even less of all. But we have fun together and feel proud and happy to have come so far.

Scootering while shopping is a good way to take stress off joints, Ruth. I also have short legs so my feet are on the fenders leaving the floor open for the bags.
