Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

The day finally arrived.  Ken Ham's Ark Encounter opened on 7 July, 2016 ... to something a bit less than Disney-sized crowds, and more than a couple dissenting voices!  Seth Andrews has gathered a quartet of significant participants in the protest…Continue

America's Best Christian has finally acknowledged that there may be one outfit which has her belief system beat for it's leverage on the government.  No great surprise, it's the NRA and the gun industries.  Betty's a good loser, though.  She's made…Continue

Seth Andrews has been through the mill as it comes to dealing with those who insist that their faith in a deity is not just valid but necessary to their lives and to all lives.  Having dealt with that gauntlet and come out the other side an atheist,…Continue

We Are America / Love Has No Labels (John Cena - Ad Council)

It seems to be a repeating pattern: I wander around the internet and inevitably, I stumble onto all manner of stuff.  It happens all the time on YouTube, and as you doubtless have deduced, yours truly tripped over something a couple minutes ago,…Continue

Carl, you'll be fine. If there's anything, etc... I'm here for you. It's at times like this we know how lucky we are to have family.
If I'm a match do you think l could get a trip to Chicago out of it.? Naw, they would probably take my kidney and fly IT to you. Lol

Very sorry for your bad news Carl, but glad you have family that cares.

Hello, Friends.

Well, yesterday was a big day. I got the results of my kidney biopsy. Not really good news.... I have a disease called IgA Nethropathy with has caused lots of scarring. Currently my kidneys are functioning at 15% which means I am now to start the process on planning for a kidney transplant. Hopefully that can happen soonner rather than later. If the wait period is long, I'm looking at having to do dialysis three times a week. As a result, I wouldn't be able to do travel and do my job.

I have a long and thoughtful process ahead of me to think about. I'm feeling fairly good and am being extraordinarily taken care of by my family. Several family members have come forward to express their desire to donate a kidney for me. I'm extremely grateful and moved by that pure gesture of love.

All I can do now is to follow doctor's instructions and to rely on their expertice at hand. Odds are for a successful outcome!

Anyone else having trouble with the right-hand side of comments missing?

Oh! What a beautiful morning, 60 degrees F, full sun, a lovely day to be continuing with the prep for winter. Yesterday, the sunflowers had a small flock of goldfinch, eating seeds, upside down in their peculiar way of eating sunflower seeds. My propagated plants are doing well in my little greenhouse under the blue spruce; I will be setting them out for the neighbors to come by and pick up whatever they want for their gardens. I'm off to the garden and I may or may not be able to make contact with the internet. During rest periods I can read all the mail that came in from my A/N friends up until I am disconnected from the wireless.

I just want to say to each one of you dear friends, I am so grateful for having you in my life and happy that you want to share with me.

Carl, I am happy to see hour face in the mail this morning. Hope you are feeling well.

Thank you, Chris, Carl, and Mindy for your nice comments about Laura's post on Facebook. It still gives me goosebumps.

I share your thoughts about Joan Rivers. Not one I listened to. Thanks, Felaine, for the lead to Elayne Boosler

Comic Relief "Elayne Boosler" Stand Up Comedy

Mindy, glad your dinner was so pleasant; the future looks brighter. I was not able to see your comment of two hours ago, just after your report of your dinner last night with atheist friends. I hate to bother anyone, but I know I am missing a treasure.

I didn't find Joan Rivers funny either, but I got the idea she wasn't trying to be mean.

Mindy, I'm jealous that you have atheist's to have dinner with.

I like the scripture circle.

Randy, I'm with you; I never cared much for Joan Rivers' style of comedy...made me uncomfortable.

Elayne Boosler is one of my faves....there's warmth in her monologues, and I went to a live "reading" of her "Peter & the Wolf" -style creation, called "Rescue; a True Story."  There wasn't a dry eye in the house when she (and the music) finished.

Joan, what your daughter wrote about you is beautiful. You have every right to be proud of both her and yourself.
