Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

degrading love — part one (TheraminTrees)

Love is by many considered among the highest of positive emotions.  Yet when love of the type offered by deities is examined, something seems to go seriously wrong.  The love of Yahweh seems less a gift than a demand, not so much beneficence as a…Continue

Felaine, your years of ice skating, and the muscles you built up over the years must be of great benefit to you now as your physical activity is vulnerable to falls! Your experiences have more value than watching old film strips, you have endurance with power of control. Who ever thought that your early training would stand you in good stead to these later years?!

Patricia, what a wonder! That device does marvelous things and to be constantly monitored, as it does, must give you both peace of mind.

Carl, that is a delightful piece. It must have been a very special way of life

That's an interesting device!  Seriously.  Beats the crap outta that thing that you have to wear, and press a button before saying, "I've fallen, and I can't get up."  (I fall down a lot....dizzy spells..., but I still am able to pull myself onto my feet...even though they are numb 24/7.  Ballet and skating classes were good for something, I guess.)

Great news, Patricia! What a guy you have.
I love to watch ice skating. So graceful and elegant.

I knew about the film, and had seen the trailer on their web site, nut the last I heard, they hadn't finished editing.

It's been so many years that I barely recognize anyone...except Tom Collins, who was a principal skater, then company manager, and Morris Chalfen's brother in law.

Sk8eycat,  I just stumbled across this documentary on Netflix.  I haven't watched it yet (plan to) but wanted to make sure you were aware of it.
