Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

appropriating morality (TheraminTrees)

We've all heard the claim: "Human morality comes from god."  And we've all seen for ourselves what Yahweh's "morality" looks like, from condemnations of homosexuality and the treatment of women as chattel to inexplicable sanctions against the eating…Continue

So, this morning, I was at my local coffee shop as I am most weekdays between bus runs. I do the editing on my husband's books so I had my laptop with me. My wallpaper is a picture I found online sometime back of a double helix with the word atheist…Continue

I forgot to mention that my kidney transplant has been delayed six months. The cardiologist wants me to fully recover before undergoing another major surgery. I guess that's for the best. It will give me additional time to build up my strength. My kidney disease has greatly weakened me. Now that I'm on dialysis and have a new heart valve, I'm finally healthy enough and have the energy to exercise.

From my experience, the exercise of arthritis joints has to be just the right amount.  Not too little and not too much.

After months of very little excercise, I first started working in my garden a few days ago, and my knees and hips were quite painful after only an hour per day.  I was quite concerned.

Yesterday, I worked 2 hours, and the joints don't have much pain.  Looks like they are recovering from being lazy all winter.

Of course my joints are not bad yet, so I don't know about bad arthritis.

By gum, Kathy, I think you're on to something! Sure enough, I didn't pick up anything bigger than a fork on my vacation. I've always read that one must "exercise" the joints to prevent debilitating arthritis. Me thinks it's the opposite!

Randall is it possible your arthritis 'healed' because your thumb was allowed to rest and recover during the trip? I wonder how your sister would feel about that.
