Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

10 Tricks from 46 (Betty Bowers)

Started by Loren Miller. Last reply by Ruth Anthony-Gardner Nov 6. 3 Replies

Apparently, Betty Bowers, America's Best Christian, has been slumming.  That is to say, she's been talking to Mike Pence [gasp!].  It would seem as though Mike has offered some of his not-so-personal tricks of the trade on how to be a 21st century…Continue

Speak English? YOU FIRST! (Betty Bowers)

Started by Loren Miller. Last reply by Donald R Barbera Sep 27. 5 Replies

Honestly, the title to this piece is badly under-representative of the content.  To be far more accurate, what we have here is Mrs. Betty Bowers, America's Best Christian, going on a rant.  Before you say it ... Say WHAAAA?  Betty Bowers ranting? …Continue

10 Things About Patriotism (Betty Bowers)

Started by Loren Miller. Last reply by Plinius Sep 26. 2 Replies

It seems as though lately, Mrs. Betty Bowers, America's Best Christian, is evolving into America's Best Patriot.  She has recently been taking some fairly well-aimed shots at a certain Orange Nightmare and his sycophantic hangers-on, regarding the…Continue

I'm usually tempted to shovel everything at once, and then my muscles are so sore, that I don't sleep well that night.

I just finished shoveling 4 inches of wet snow off my sidewalk & driveway to the street.  I've had enough for today.  I'll wait a day or two to remove it from my walkway to the car, and the driveway to the gate.

One poster wrote, "*opens box and sets aside to inspect contents* / *reaches over less than 30seconds later to retrieve box* / *box mysteriously weighs an additional 10lbs* / *opens box to find this* / They are like frieking magicians. Look away and BAM CAT IN BOX")

And for December 26th....

Wow!  Loren, guess we'll have your 'left-overs' tonight.  Same menu except, add baked ham to it.  Will be thinking of your family tonight.  Just viewed your profile, to paraphrase W. C. Fields; "Everyone who loves 'cats' and hate kids, can't be all bad!"  ha ha

We had Christmas Eve dinner last night with me, my gal and her kids and grandkids - ham, green bean casserole, taters & gravy, corn, and other good stuff.  Today it's just me and her and a pair of stuffed Cornish hens, which works just fine for moi!

Home alone all day, Randall? Lucky you. I'm envious. I'd rather be at the office than where I'm at. Long story

Today, Christmas, doesn't feel any different than any other day--except for the radio music. Home alone all day and glad for it!

Here's wishing you all good health and happy non-theistic thoughts.

I'm gonna make cram-berry sawse in the morning, and put orange zest and juice in it...and 2 tsp cinnamon.  YUM!  Good on biscuits or toast.  Or chicken.  Or Yams.  ALL of that!

Now that I have REAL food to cook, I'm not hungry.  Yet.

Oh!  Pet fans, I bought some of that new stuff for my cats..."Beyond"....they really snarfed it down, but it's expensive.  $1.30 for a small 3 oz. can.  They will get it for an occasional treat, but not every day.

But Pumpkin just came in and thanked me...my sweet little old man will be 16 on Jan. 1st.  Still acts like a juvenile; looks like one, too.  (He was a bit of a runt; his feral mother was much too young to have kittens when she got pregnant.  She went to live in Kanab, Utah, at the Best /Friends Sanctuary....no place else would accept her.)
