Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Brandi Amari Williams, I agree, don't teach kids what to think, teach them how to think.

I received a notice from some source I did not open that stated I had some derogatory statements made about me, politically, and I had to laugh. I am a little old lady who has learned a lot in my years and I like to share my ideas with others. If that makes me "an enemy of the people", then maybe the people need an enemy.

When I was in Berlin, just before the wall came down, I saw such profound contrast between two parts of the city, I knew they drank the same water, ate from the same soils, breathed the same air, and yet by just crossing through the gate, I knew politics underlaid the differences. One of the more deeply-felt learnings of my quest.

@ Joan, I know you're not a communist, but you don't want to be a capitalist either. From the day the Iron Curtain fell, the capitalists thought they had a free hand to do whatever they thought of, and it worked out badly. The Curtain had kept them in check. Not that I envied the people who lived behind it - or the people who suffer capitalist rule. I'd still go for a mix of both opposites.

I see you, Ian! *waving*

Re The Family: Rachel Maddow did stories on them during the recent presidential campaign, in part for LGBT reasons. Their connected with the American fundies who are working in Kenya to get homosexuals executed. It's an ugly organization for several reasons, including those you identified.

Dems who voted for Bush 43's war in Iraq lost my support. I want Elizabeth Warren to run for president. But then, a Dem administration lied us into a war in Viet Nam and a Repub administration lied us into a war in Iraq. Is Jill Stein doing anything now to build the Greens into a competitive party, or was her run last year a personal thing?

Hillary and her prayer partners? With so many xian voters, candidates have to pander. Pay more attention to their votes on church and state issues. I do that and I contribute to several ch&st separation organizations. I've read most of the US Suprme Court rulings on ch&st; Scalia would happily impose his Catholicism on America.

@Tom Sarbeck: I think some of the early undergodding capitalists were the founders of what is now known as The Family Fellowship (aka The fellowship).  It started out as an anti-union organization. They are a secretive, almost underground organization that works under many other names, including Young Life (for high school and college students). I don't know if they have any direct connections with the dominionists at Oral Roberts University (where Michelle Bachmann went to law school), but it wouldn't surprise me if they do.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fellowship_(Christian_organization)

They provide "prayer partners" and "prayer circles" for members of congress, and sponsor the "National Prayer Breakfast" (that would make me lose my apetite, if I had to attend)....and they are wealthy.  VERY.

Hillary Clinton said her "prayer partners" helped her cope during the Monica Lewinsky scandal, and Bill Clinton's impeachment trial. That's one reason I will never vote for her.

I have Jeff Sharlett's book The Family: The Secret Fundamentalism at the Heart of American Power  ...  I've read it several times, and it scares the *bleep!* out of me.  It also depresses me.  IMO it's a very powerful cabal.

Not quite a month ago, I got myself a new ride, which I'm enjoying a lot.  The woman in the following video, though, seems to be getting a bit of a runaround with her attempt to purchase a used "Honda Prius."  Have a look at what would happen If God Were A Car:

"Live as if the crumbling order has already collapsed. Plant dreaming seeds of possibility, as you till the soil with the compost of this decaying paradigm. Cease your participation in it. Resist. Dream. Create. Organize. Live your life as a question addressed to the soul of the world and live your way into the answer."
~ Phil Rockstroh

Phil makes sense; With the Earth facing challenges of humans' making, I can think of nothing instead of this or better than this.
Plant, till, cease participation, resist, dream, create, organize, live in the question into the answer!
