Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

The following showed up in my YouTube feed this morning, and I decided to have a look.  Turns out, the New York Times has given us a reasonably even-handed look at a good friend of ours, being one Jerry DeWitt, former bible-thumper and now a pretty…Continue

So, this morning, I was at my local coffee shop as I am most weekdays between bus runs. I do the editing on my husband's books so I had my laptop with me. My wallpaper is a picture I found online sometime back of a double helix with the word atheist…Continue

how dogma pollutes discourse (qualiasoup & theramintrees)

Chris, the water (and foreclosure) situation in the Reno area is actually much worse than it is near Vegas.  Add to that the people who are out of work, many of whom have movrd into vacant houses with no poer or water, and you have a disaster in the making.

The main thing is that this is ALL desert, or semi-desert, and should never have been developed.

We are overbreeding, and certain people are making billions from our stubborn refusal to limit family size.

Abortion, tubal ligation, and The Pill(s) are all blessings.

The self-fed cats made me smile Mindy.  I'm keeping it.

I remember the Lego museum when I was in Denmark years ago. I was not impressed. My grandson received 4-5 different boxes of Legos for his 5th birthday last week--none from me. I kept the Shell connection to myself.

Stunning pictures, Felaine, thanks!

I have often wished that Lego would take their plastic blocks and dum them into the nearest dumpster.  I have rarely seen anything so tacky in my life.  and a total waste of petroleum derivatives.

Sorry, "in" Las Vegas. An edit function would be nice.

The T-shirt was bought at The Globe, Nick. There's also a white one with red splatter and the text "Out, out damned spot!" for women.

One of my nephews was is Las Vegas earlier this year and came back with some shocking photos of how low the water level was behind the dam. Sad that the enviroment is treated so badly. One good point, here in Denmark is that, after a huge campaign and petition, Lego will now not renew its contract with Shell, one of the companies trying to find oil in the Arctic.

Mindy, I was able to copy your most recent photo. The others, I have not. I can tell by reactions that you are up to your usual excellent picks of cartoons and good pictures or comments.

Thanks for the lead to Barbara Ehrenreich nee book, Living with a wild God. she is so insightful and helped women understand how the patriarchal system works against women.

Thanks to all with the nice comments about my writing. It helps me get clarity in my own thinking. I hope it clarified others. Even if I am "biased".

Randy, we are a nice group of feminist women and men in this group. I value the comments of all, even the ones that seem to not "get it" yet. Well, they are learning not to mess with fine, critical thinking women.
