Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

If you could rid the world of one thing, what would it be?

Today, I heard Seth Andrews talk about the question, "If you could rid the world of one thing, what would it be?"  My first thought was religion, but after a few seconds I decided it would be irrational or anti-scientific thinking.  That would take…Continue

The room looks good Patricia.

Patricia, congratulations on your good mammogram report.

I paint my rooms white, not because I like it better than certain colors, but because my old eyes need all the light they can get.

If it wasn't for that, I'd probably use a lot of my favorite color, a light yellow-green.  Or, as a co-worker liked to call it, "baby-shit green".  Haha.  But, I don't think I'd like a whole room painted even that color.

I also like light brown, bright yellow, avocado green, orange, wine, and purple.  But, a little goes a long way.

Black is my least favorite "color".  Red is second worst.

If I remember correctly, it was the waiting room that was pink, and the other rooms mostly white.

Joan, that room reminds me of the last time I went to the mormon temple.  There was an overabundance of pink for my taste.  Kind of creepy.

It also reminds me of a scene in the movie "Beaches".  One of the main characters was checking-out her new lounge she was to sing in.  It was mostly pink tones, and she said "It looks like a flamingo threw-up in here!"

I know that's for Patricia, but Ouch!  I like purple, but too much is too much!

Patricia, this one is for you!

Glad to hear your check-up went well, Patricia. It reminds me that I ought to have my prostate checked again. It's been at least 5 years since the last one.

I don't like Verizon because of the lies they told me when I wanted internet service from them, plus I keep getting bills from them with someone else's account number on it even though they said they would correct it 5 months ago.

However, I've never had a problem with their phone service, so I keep it.  I pay $100 every year which comes to $8.33 per month.  25 cents per minute comes out of the $100, but I never use it all by the end of the year, and it accumulates.

I have kept my land line phone service because I get a Lifeline discount on it, and when the power goes out (rarely...usually when the earth does a dance) the phone still works...in case I "fall down and can't get up" I or my sister can still call the EMTs for help.
