Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Pictures of living things, including the prophet Muhammed? Here's scores of them, produced by Muslim scribes and artists.

No, that link doesn't work and I don't know why not. You can try pasting it in to a browser and the searching. The result should be "cats in boxes" by the hundred.

Mindy, the potted puppy is funny!

Steph, I very much like the boxed cats on the desk, and like the grey can in the red flowers.  I think silver-grey is my favorite cat color.

Tom, great video on merging galaxies. Kind of like the current financial crisis, chaos of financial collapses results in bank mergers into bigger and bigger institutions. "What happens when two galaxies collide? Although it may take over a billion years, such titanic clashes are quite common. Since galaxies are mostly empty space, no internal stars are likely to themselves collide. Rather the gravitation of each galaxy will distort or destroy the other galaxy, and the galaxies may eventually merge to form a single larger galaxy. Expansive gas and dust clouds collide and trigger waves of star formation that complete even during the interaction process."
Hey folks, we have the power to stop this insanity. Stop using big banks, boycott credit cards and banks that exploit people. If enough people did that, we would end these ridiculous patterns of people being afraid because of losing huge chunks of money and running helplessly to banks to solve the problems they created in the first place.
People, wake up! Who cause the financial collapse? Who benefited by it? Why paid heavy prices for others' greed? Who is going to rescue us? Are we helpless?

Steph, love the boxed cats! They look sublimely content.
sk8eycat, Eric Idle has such a great way with lyrics and delivery, he makes the songs. As to freezing lemons and throwing them to the objectionable ones, wastes a lot of good lemons; perhaps freezing the nuisances out of our lives and making lemon ade to drink with friends in the garden and having a good chin-wag would feel better.
Mindy, it surely doesn't take much maturity to realize work, work, work, is what life is all about. The summers off end, the free weekends end, the free day occurs so very seldom, and starts again every week. I think that is the hardest part of the transition from school to adult living. I see it in my grandchildren, and the realization of my children that they went through that period as well. It is at that point children begin to appreciate their parents and forgive them. At least, that has been my experience.
