Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

punishing doubt (TheraminTrees)

If you are associated with religion and especially a fundamentalist religion, doubt is intolerable.  Certainty, however it may be achieved or imposed, becomes a necessary element, especially considering the utter dearth of any form of evidence or…Continue

A moment to relax and see the Earth from space; some how this comforts me.

Joan, I'm so glad you're recovering nicely.  It's great to hear "positive" stories from you and others here on Atheist/Nexus regarding cancer.

**sending you a virtual warm and friendly "heal quickly" hug.**

No, I did not make the "Shake Your Pants" cat video.  I'm not that talented in the computer/video department.  My great talent is stealing material and passing it on.  Kinda like Milton Berle.

Tony, this is for you........

Please excuse me, my computer is just being plain stubborn. It is slow, won't post, or posts multiple times. I guess a spring cleaning is in order. Sorry. Now, I can't delete the excesses.

Melinda. Wanted to get you something for your birthday, then realized that you have more un-birthdays than birthdays, just like the rest of us. So, for all the rest of your days, may I present the following.

Oh My Gosh, Dancing Cats, ♯♯, Ha Ha, OO OO, Wee Wee, ♫ ♫, Shake Shake Shake, Your pants, OO OO,♩♩...

Did you make that, Carl? Love your cake and fruits, too.

Patricia, the rose and blossoms look so pretty.

Tony, the 4/20 story reveals the ways holy scriptures were written. Melinda, the story lives on beyond you. Someday, someone will discover it was a pot party. Well, hope your celebration goes well and you have a successful weekend.

Great to hear your bandages are off and energy is beginning to return, Joan.

Happy birthday, Melinda. All the flowers and cake shows how much you mean to us. :)

It was 81° here today, in Mid April. Well at least we're not drowning like Chicago.

Hansen was quoted as saying that if we burn all of our fossil fuels we'll get a human-free planet. Sitting on a planet at the inner edge of the habitable zone, I feel a bit close to the fire. But I'm less depressed today. It felt quit lovely outside with an approaching-storm breeze. Cognitive conflict between the here and now caressing my skin and abstract concepts of the Venus Syndrome.

Thanks for sharing the close call with your friend, and your brain fog experience, sk8eycat. I send a virtual hug. Glad to hear HJ is feeling better.

Happy Birthday Melinda. Hope you have a great day.

Felaine, that's a normal reaction. When some parts (esp. brain parts) get more than their usual use something has to shut down. Think of it as a  rest-and-repair mode. You will come back stronger afterwards. I react in the same way sometimes so this is the voice of experience talking. Fresh air and exercise will enhance the recovery process.

Bruises do seem to have their own spectrum not otherwise known. The changes can be quite interesting to follow. Enjoy the rest and recovery Joan. The above applies to you too plus; post-surgical patients are advised to eat a high-calorie diet, so enjoy your favourite cakes, choc, desserts etc. as "doctor's orders".

The 4/20 wouldn't mean much here as there aren't 20 months in a year :-D

I hope you have a wonderful celebration.
