Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Oh, NO!  The gun debate has gotten so heated that it has Betty Bowers, America's Best Christian, TALKING TO HERSELF!  Apparently, one of her has had a stroke or a serious breakdown in cognitive skills, as she does little more than parrot the NRA's…Continue

The myth of religions

The creation myth of civilizations instructs men to dominate, to conquer, to go forth and multiply. No reasonable person would pay attention to such a god. No hunter-gatherer receives such a senseless message from wise elders. However, that idea…Continue

Love the cat pic...Shows that a lot of things are only a matter of perspective.

Having a good weekend here in Missouri.  Hope everyone else is having a good one as well.

Pretty much, Ian, as long as it shows respect. We're wide open to what's on your mind, Rhonda. I'm sure you have a lot to add. It's as easy as "how did your weekend go?" or have you burst out laughing about a funny LOLcat today? Here's mine...

I know what you mean Rhonda. I feel the same. But I think it's a place where anything goes.

So, I am new to this group.  I read a lot on groups before I comment much.  Like to see how things go, test the waters, so to speak.

If I don't comment much, it isn't that I am not interested.  I am usually just trying to see if I have anything to add.

A religious hypocrite (interchangeable) would be right at home and among friends.

I just wanted to comment on the coming Rapture and say that I have done my share by setting up a filthy lucre recycling bin. That way those who are about to become the "dearly departed" can rest assurred that the evil of money isn't rubbing off on the greater community. Of course, I will be offering loans at the respected business discount of 22% compounded daily. Asides for that, I have waited impatiently for this day. At least the grounds will be clear for those of us without such understanding to gather it in peace!

Was at the theatre last night and saw "Tartuffe". There was a comment in the programme that put forward the opinion that a religious hypocrite/con-man like Tartuffe would not succeed in the U.S. if he was an immigrant. Any comments?
Comment by Lary9 on May 19, 2011 at 7:47pm'll all be over on Saturday, May 21, 2011 anyway. Who cares? Anyone else going to an "End Of The World" masquerade party? My daughter's giving one for friends and I'm invited. I'm going as a Borgia Pope..
