Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Joan, I agree with "My philosophy of life is totally satisfying and does not include any characteristics of the supernatural.", but in addition to reason I depend upon sensory evidence. All scientific evidence depends upon use of the senses. Insistence on using the senses, excluding for example "evidence" from dreams and faith, is fundamental.

I feel no spiritual void when I reject religion. My philosophy of life is totally satisfying and does not include any characteristics of the supernatural.

I am a rationalist, I regard reason as the chief source and test of knowledge. My method to find truth is not sensory but intellectual and deductive.

By deductive reasoning I mean I reason from one or more premises to reach a logically certain conclusion, i.e.

Premise 1) All humans are mortal.

Premise 2) Trump is a human.

Conclusion) Trump is mortal.

Premise 1) All humans are moral. (invalid)

Premise 2) Trump is a human.

Conclusion) Trump is moral. (invalid)

Following my curiosity , I typed in the search box, " Blasphemy laws+ USA"

My finding is that there are still some blasphemy laws alive in some states, but that they are not enforced anymore. However I came upon an article I enjoyed reading in Ouora titled "What is the most appropriate punishment for blasphemy?"

Here is one persons response in part:

"First, what area of criminal law do you want it to be a part of. You could make it a type of racism but religion isn't a race so that would fail. You couldn't make it an offence against the person because that deals in physical violence. You could try to make it a tort (civil wrong) specifically defamation however defamation has no criminal remedy also plenty of defences like it's not defamation if it's an opinion or it's not defamation if it's a fact etc. Your last option that has any hope is to make it a type of fraud. However your biggest stumbling block is that you must prove that the blasphemous comment was a lie therefore you must prove your religion is true therefore you must prove your god exists. Good luck with that. Btw if you prove god exists then you have taken away the faith part of religion which defeats the point of religion. On top of proving your god exists if yours is one of the three Abrahamic religions proving the existence of the god of Abraham is not enough as you have two other religions believing in him do you must prove why those two are wrong and you are right on top of proving the existence of god/allah/Jehovah/whatever. Again good luck with that. Btw every time I use the word prove this means prove in a court of law and if it is criminal punishment you are looking for then the standard you must achieve is beyond all reasonable doubt and the defense doesn't have to prove that god doesn't exist they just have to show that you can't prove that he does."

That IS amazing art work. I wonder if the same technique can be done with a V.W. bus.......

Wow! I envy the imagination and creativity of someone and something like that! Amazing.

Things are back to normal now that all my family have returned home. Now perhaps my BP will return to normal! It was good, however.
