Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

That's bad Randall, a pity about the trees and I do hope the greenhouses were insured!

Things got even worse on the farm after a storm with 100+mph winds blew through. My kids "lost" two greenhouses with damage to others. And I (we) lost at least 30 nice trees, some 3 feet in diameter, in the 7 acre woods. I walked through it, scrambling over and around downed maples, buckeyes, oaks, etc. It was devastated, as was I. It'll take time to recover.

Beautiful viseo, Joan, thanks. I have been watching  "Last chance to see" this week, so beautiful, and it leaves me a little hope for the furure.

Ian, a forklift driver has good attributes: you can push things around and bring order out of chaos. I hope you like your new skills and enjoy the people with whom you work.

I found a film that relaxes as it intrigues me. I turned the volume way down to the lowest decibel to add to my enjoyment:

Noctilucent Clouds and Aurora Over Scotland

Good luck with the wine, Randy. One of the few things I miss by being sober is the fun of making my own wine.

That's a great video, Joan. We can only hope that those threatened, peaceful creatures are allowed to survive and multiply.

I've recently taken my 'driving licence' for fork-lift trucks and am now doing a 4-week practical session at a builders merchant/lumber yard. It's state-payed and I'm not the only one. This is what's happened to all the basic labouring jobs here: there all being done by unemployed, immigrants and refugees on government schemes. The tax payers are subsidising capitalism.

Our strange weather is cool, windy, wet then dry for long spells.

My neighbor to my east salvaged the wood from the fallen-down fence and is rebuilding it a little shorter. We took out all the ivy, which he calls, "rat homes", meaning squirrels and mice. My plan is to plan raspberries along that fence. Since he hated the ivy, I checked with him if raspberries were OK. I reminded him that raspberries will mosey over to his side of the fence. He gave his approval.

I now have the east, south, and west fences replaced and the only things that get back there are skunks, raccoons, and cats.

I enjoy learning of your raspberry wine, Randy. A nice way to get your daily fruit portion.

How are you doing, Carl? I think about you often as I go about my daily life. Your recovery amazes me. Dawn, my neighbor across the street, still works as hard as before her heart transplant 20-some years ago. She said she doesn't have as much "breath" as she used to, and she is grateful to have breath at all.

For a moment of R&R:

Thanks for the hilarious video, Joan!

Good luck on the red raspberry wine, Randall. Your organic farmer has lots of company when it comes to weird weather assaults.

Comment by Randall Smith on June 22, 2016 at 7:11am

When it rains, it pours--literally! 3" two days ago and another 2-3 expected today. My poor SIL organic farmer can't catch a break. His fields are swamped. On top of that, he hit a deer (or vice versa) which "totaled" his truck. A farmer can't live without his truck.

As for me, nothing much. I'm going to make my third batch (gallon) of red raspberry wine today. It's a lot of work, but fun, even if the wine isn't all that great. I hope to live long enough to harvest enough grapes to make the real stuff.

Hope all my "hang" friends are doing okay.

This is old news, but I just watched it. I really didn't expect that answer, however, it fits.

Carl, one step backward, two steps forward. You'll make it. Always good to hear about your progress.
