Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

The myth of religions

Started by Joan Denoo. Last reply by Joan Denoo Feb 16. 3 Replies

The creation myth of civilizations instructs men to dominate, to conquer, to go forth and multiply. No reasonable person would pay attention to such a god. No hunter-gatherer receives such a senseless message from wise elders. However, that idea…Continue

10 Tricks from 46 (Betty Bowers)

Started by Loren Miller. Last reply by Ruth Anthony-Gardner Nov 6, 2017. 3 Replies

Apparently, Betty Bowers, America's Best Christian, has been slumming.  That is to say, she's been talking to Mike Pence [gasp!].  It would seem as though Mike has offered some of his not-so-personal tricks of the trade on how to be a 21st century…Continue

Glad to hear your good news Kathy.

I'm glad that's all it was, Kathy.

Joan, just got back. They didn't find anything. Changed some meds around and added another.

I was expecting the worse but new policy is you must go to the office to get results of labs and test. Just another way of charging more money.

Kathy, have you heard the report from your doctor, yet? I'm thinking of you.

Daniel - so sorry that you're at this stage with your beloved companion. We lost a dog last fall, and we felt very fortunate that she checked out at home in bed. Even though it's an inevitable part of the whole deal, it's always one of the worst things in the world to go through. After a while the memories start to bring a smile again.

On a brighter note my gson and his husband came and spent the evening and night Fri. They fly between az and ky because of their work. So we don't get to see his husband much. He's a lovely young man and they seem well suited to each other. My gson asked if they could spend the night here because it would have made his family uncomfortable had they spent the night with any of them. But they were meeting up with friends in this area the following morning for a day trip.By staying here they knocked an hour drive off in the am. We had a wonderful time.

Daniel, that breaks my heart. My twelve year old Boston went into seizures three years ago after a lifetime of perfect health. I rushed him to the vet but he had already gone blind and had a stroke by the time we got there. The seizures couldn't be controlled. I had to wait until the vet came in from a call, several hours later,to have him put to sleep. I wish I had had the opportunity to have him put down humanly. That said it's a decision only you can make and I feel for you. You have my sympathy and I'll be thinking of you.

Daniel, A friend of mine asked me to come to her home when they had a home euthanasia vet come. It was a hard time for her, even as she knew she had no better option. I'm glad you will have Ning with you at that time. The thought of Charlie being in a place he enjoyed feels comforting. Sending hugs with sad tears.

I'm so sorry, Daniel. "Been there, done that". Never easy. I actually accidently ran over my old cat backing up.
It was just a year ago (Sept 12) I had to tell the doctors to pull the plug on my dying father. It had to be done. (I went into shock.)
Good luck on making a decision.
